Moms who pump at work- how is the room "labeled" at your job?
Hi pumping moms!
I'm in HR and we need to establish a private office for pumping moms.
How is your room labeled?
I was thinking of just putting a sign that says "private room"- the room would be locked and only the pumping mom would have the key?
Just wondering- does your room at your job say "mothers' room?"

When they made one at my old job, they made called it "the lactation room".

Thank ladies!
Our office is 95% male. When I pumped here I have my own office so it wasn't an issue for me.
I'm a little nervous she might feel uncomfortable going in the office if it is labeled "lactation room"
I'm thinking either mother's room- or private room.

mine is in a nurse's office so its not labeled

IMO "lactation room" would really give me a complex, would not feel comfortable about it. Private room is just fine to me, I don't see the need to advertise what goes on in there lol. Also - esp since I worked with mostly men I could see it becoming the brunt of some jokes...sad but true.

At my job it is label the "Medical Room" and who have to get a key to use it.

I like Mother's room. I have to use my HR woman's office and that makes me really uncomfortable. I'm really glad to hear that so many others have rooms just for them.

In my office it's the nurse's office so it's not labeled.

it's not labeled at all. it's basically a utlity closet with a light. I am the only person using it.

Ditto...until the custodian walked in on me, then I put a "Do not disturb" sign on the door handle whenever I pumped.

I think I'm just going to label the office:
Private Room
Please do not enter
- The mom will have one key and I will have the other- just in case she loses it. I have blinds on the window and a lock on the door and she has a desk with outlets.

We have a "Wellness Room"
It's not just for pumping, there's a computer in there to log onto our hr system to review private info for those who don't have offices, a scale and a couch.
It locks from the inside.

Maybe call it the Family Room or Mother's Room. We don't have one here..we have a First Aid room that we can lock and then we just put a sign on the door saying it was in use.

Heck, I was so happy when they made one, I couldn't care less what they called it, frankly! I was happy to be a cow!!!

Mine says nothing.... My boss had a room he never used, and for the nice price of 250 dollars , he got a master lock in which I'm the only one with the key :)
