I'm in my 15th week, and had the ultrascreen (which the sono part came out fine - I find out blook results on Monday at my next appt). I have the glucose sometime next week, or the week after, just have to have it scheduled.
Been feeling good... no nausea... but one thing has been happening a lot... I get out of breath while standing on the train for too long (it's obvious that I'm prego, and people just stare at my belly, then look at my face, and haven't offered their seat). Anyway, someone told me that it means that my baby has a lot of hair already , or that the baby is high up. I thought it was just my body over-working, and me feeling those affects.
Anyone else feeling like they can't breathe 100%? ME!!!! I walk a couple of steps and Im out of breathe!!!! I go next week for my 1 hour - I will be 13 weeks and they are doing it early b/c I had GD with DD and had to take insulin , I I pass!!!

Yes! I get out of breath so easily now. Supposedly pregnant woman require more oxygen than normal, so that accounts for the breathlessness.
I thought the glucose testing was done between weeks 24-28. Thanks for clearing that up for me. With the m/s, loss of breath, leg cramps, etc, t's amazing how much we have to go thru to have these lil creatures, huh?
As for the glucose, now I'm going to have to check out my paperwork. I could have sworn that I had to schedule an appt for a test (outside of my OB) on/around 4/20, and I assumed it was the Glucose... which would make me 16 weeks. Unless I'm mistaken... and I should take the test on my 20th week, & not the 20th of April? Ahhh, prego brains! lol

So glad that the sono for the Ultrascreen went well! Good luck with the blood test and the upcoming glucose test!
People are so rude not getting up for you!! Short story: when I was a police officer assigned to Transit about 10 years ago, on more than one occasion, I have MADE young able men get up to allow a preggo woman to sit down. I am pretty loud anyway, but I made everyone aware that I was not taking no for an answer and that young people should be ashamed for not giving up their seat for a preggo or an elderly person!! One kid decided he wasn't gonna get up, so at the next stop [I think it was 96th St on the #1 train] I held the train, dragged him by his jacket, kicked him off the train and out of the transit system. The whole car clapped for me. It was pretty crowded too. Teenagers are sooo obnoxious!! I hope you never have to stand for long again on a train!! WOW! I'm standing as I clap... but not for long, ok?
People like you amaze me... you don't find many selfless, good-hearted people on the train these days. Today, I took advantage of a spot between people, and asked that everyone moved over, and the nerve of one woman telling me that there was no room. I immediately quipped "there IS room, if people weren't so greedy & didn't take up more room than they needed. Would you mind giving me your seat since I'm pregnant?", and she ignored me, and kept listening to her iPod. SO I stayed at the edge of my "seat" until people got off a few stops later. Ahhhh, gotta love people!

You might be thinking of the AFP test which tests for neural tube defects like spina bifida. That is done between 15-18 weeks.
My brain has been like a sieve lately, preggo brain indeed!

Me too!! Plus I have my 16 week appt. I'm curious to see how much I have gained. According to my scale I'm only up 5 pounds, but I feel like I'm up 20

At my regular appt at 13 weeks my OB just asked how I was feeling and if I had any questions. Then she tried to hear the heartbeat on the doppler, but could only pick up my own heartbeat, so she gave me a quick external sono just to make sure all was ok.
I go back next at 17 weeks and she will do the AFP test and probably listen for the heartbeat on the doppler again.

Re: October Mommies Thread
I had my nucheal trans. last Friday. (I was exactly 13 weeks) The mean sono tech refused to give me a guess as to what team we were on. she was a real witch. lol Doc said it takes 10 days to get my results back for the blood test, although the sono looked good. the baby kept rubbing his/her eye and head. it was so cute.

I live in TX! So that's where I got mine done. It was at an actual imaging place, as opposed to a regular doc's office, which I feel have a better bedside manner.
Good luck tomorrow!

Oh! Well I won't be going out there! Thanks for the good luck. I am nervous about everything being ok. I can't even enjoy the pregnancy because I am always worried that something may be wrong.
