Re: Official Alli Thread

This week I gained 1.8 pounds - but this was a given considering we went away for the weekend and had planned some nights out to dinner. I consider it lucky that I only gained that much weight. Chat Icon

Even with the gain, I've still lost 20 pounds in 5 weeks, so I am happy.

Re: Official Alli Thread

wow that is still really good. I'm so jealous!!! I am almost up to the end of my first week. I just got my period and am feeling a little bloated so I don't want to weigh myself till it goes away.

Not exactly sure of the question... how long does it take for the pill to work, or how long does it take to lose weight? I'll just answer both.

1. How long does it take the pill to work? It works immediately as soon as its digested and will work on any lingering 'fats' in your system - thats why they recommend a low fat diet before you start taking the pills. If you're asking because you're not sure its working because you're not having treatment effects, then it just means you're doing it right. You are not supposed to have treatment effects if you are following the diet. Even if you don't have blow out treatment effects (ewww, sorry) you might notice some minor changes in your stool (color, texture, etc).

2. How long does it take to lose weight? When I first got on the program, I didn't weigh daily, I only weighed weekly. I lost 6 pounds my first week.

Hope that answers your question.

just keep in mind sometimes the TE's take 24-48 hours to kick in from a certain meal.

And no TE's mean you're following the diet correctly!

Thats why I still laugh about the bad reputation this pill gets. Everyone thinks that you randomly get these attacks when you take the pill. They don't realize that if you don't cheat and actually do what you're supposed to do, you're fine and you get the added benefit of not absorbing some fat & calories.
