Re: OFFICIAL WW 2013 THREAD
Great job this week everyone!
I didn't lose anything this week...I was kinda expecting that since I had a big loss last week, and it was partially due to a stomach virus. I'm still down a total of 18.6 lbs...hopefully getting back on track this week!

Last night I indulged a bit... DH wanted to get sushi, which wasn't bad, but I LOVE my wine with sushi, so I had a few glasses (we had the fireplace going and it was worth it to indulge!). Also had some olives with my wine before dinner.
I couldn't officially weigh in at WWs, for obvious reasons, but I weighed myself at home this morning and I'm up .2 lbs from last week. I basically view that as a maintain, and I am fine with it -- even relieved! Because after I weighed in last week, I had houseguests over the weekend and definitely went off the rails, and then went to a Superbowl party Sunday night. So factoring that all in, and last night's wine and sodium heavy meal, up only .2 is good for me.
Today, I start fresh, BUT it's my birthday, so will likely get to my parents' house later for pizza and birthday cake. But I should be able to just use some weekly points for that and stay on track for the rest of the week. Hoping to reach the 10 lb loss mark next week!
Hope everyone is holding up ok!

Re: OFFICIAL WW 2013 THREAD
I only lost .4 this week, I don't get why I'm not seeing 2 lb losses. I never use my weeklies or AP's, what gives?

Are you nursing? That could be why.
If not some ideas-- Switch things up a lot. Eat completely different lunches and dinners.
Make sure you follow the good health guidelines. fruits, veggies, lean mets, whole grains, HEALTHY OILS (everyone forgets about the healthy oils, myself included)
Limit sodium. I tried that last week and lost 2.6-- I made my own salad dressing (to cut down on sodium and used evoo to get in my healthy oils)
Try using your extra points. I know it sounds counterproductive, but sometimes the difference shakes up your metabolism and helps you lose weight.
In the end though- remember you are LOSING. I know its slow, but its better than gaining

That's pretty awesome!! Sushi always make me gain b/c of the sodium- I never have it the night before a weigh in!!
Enjoy your birthday- that's what those weeklies are for!!!

Re: OFFICIAL WW 2013 THREAD
Thanks Colleen. I'm not nursing.. I know it's a loss but I guess I'm just frustrated that its not more especially since I was so diligent about tracking. I think you're right though about switching things up, I will try that, and eating more points to see what happens. Thanks again!

I also agree with eating more points and trying to eat some of the weeklies. I seem to have had the best success, both on the old program and the Points Plus program, on weeks where I use most of my weeklies. And for some reason, I seem to have better success using them in clusters -- like using most of them on a big Saturday night out, or on a couple of big splurges during the week -- rather than consistently spreading them across my week (adding 7 points per day). But I know a lot of people say they can't lose if they touch the weeklies, so I guess it's trial and error. I am at 26 pts a day, and I really couldn't survive on the program if I couldn't dip into the weekly points.
Did you recently start exercising? I know some people say they take a couple of weeks to start losing if they took up a new activity. (I am pretty much a couch potato so not an issue for me, LOL!).
Maybe also tweak the ratios you are eating. If you are eating a lot of fruit, maybe cut back on that and incorporate more dairy, for example. And see how that impacts your losses.
I also think it takes awhile for the scale to catch up with what we are doing. My second week back on program, I only lost .4, and I tracked so diligently and weighed and measured, etc. The following week, I had more occasions out, drank more alcohol, etc, and lost 2 lbs. So the scale is a mystery to me sometimes...And I find it's not as easy now in my late 30s as it was when I was in my late 20s/early 30s, and it wasn't as easy to lose after having my son as it was before I had him, etc.
I think you have to kind of take the long term view... a couple of weeks is too short of a time to see if there's a pattern or if the program will work. I would give it a month or two, and while you may have bigger losses and smaller losses and even some gains, if the overall trend is losing, I would say it's working.
Good luck this week!

Also make sure you are weighing, measuring and drinking lots of water or whatever you like to drink. Especially if you're working out.
