What time is his last bottle/bath? I would try something maybe an hour after his last bottle/bath. This gives you a little time to start a bedtime routine whether it be snuggling/reading a book, etc.

We have no routine at all...basically because he won't allow one. I always give him a bath in the morning or afternoon...never at night. Maybe I should start tonight with a night bath. Do you bath DS everynight? I normally do every other day...unless we're going somewhere.

I think doing bath at night would be good. We give jacen one every other night.

I think you are getting some great advice---I just wanted to add that, while it was tough, you can do it----DS never looked at me differently and he is such a better sleeper now! It took us 3-4 nights---I didn't sleep at all while he cried, but I would do it again in a second, I know my son is happy and well rested. Re: Please lend some advice for starting CIO.

Dawn, I wouldn't really say I have done CIO, but what I do which has helped me for both bedtime and nap time is after I put him down I take a shower.

In the shower I can't really hear him and if he is crying by the time I get out of the shower (I take a 10 - 15 minute shower) I do go in and get him. But most of the time he seems to fall asleep.

I hate hearing him cry and the shower blocks out the crying for the 1st 10 - 15 minutes.
