If you really want to read more articles about the situation, follow haaretz, Jerusalem post, times of Israel, jta, ynet on Facebook and twitter.
These are all pro Jewish. I'm not against reading them but I'd like some views in the other side. I want to read both sides. I truly believe as someone who is neutral I need to read views from both sides.
I could post links to videos of Hamas indoctrinating children to hate Jews from the time they are infants. I could post links to videos of Palestinian children's tv programs teaching to hate and kill Jews. But I won't. They are easy to find online yourself.
What about posting links of Israelis sitting out in lawn chairs and eating popcorn while watching the lights of bombs hitting Gaza?
You mean, when they aren't hiding in shelters to avoid rockets they actually carry on with their summer?
How about the thousands of videos of Palestinians in the streets celebrating the deaths of Jewish children? The SIGNS on stores giving discounts because Israelis were kidnapped by Hamas? Shouting DEATH TO JEWS?

I'm not looking for Hamas views I wanted to read the everyday Palestinian view. I find it hard to believe that every is flew one of them want Jews dead.
I believe Hamas is a terrorist org but I was looking for Palestinian views as they do not all belong to Hamas.
The point she was making was that Palestinian citizens are taught from a very young age to hate Jews. Hamas is their leadership. They elected a terrorist group into government. They control the schools, the media, etc. So the views of the general Palestinian public ARE very much in line with Hamas.
This is untrue...absolutely untrue. Please stop fueling the hate. You are one of the reasons that this issue continues. Palestinians civilians and Israeli civilians generally get along and there are many organizations there on both sides that promote unity between Arabs and Jews.
You're right, in that there ARE those who get along.
But the rhetoric is taught in schools and spread through the media. It's public. It's out there for anyone to see.

MrsYank. Please tell me how you defend a group that has stated in its charter that its only mission and goal is to drive all the Jews into the sea and destroy Israel. That it will NOT accept any other option.
How is Israel at fault, when that is what it is dealing with? Look up the history of peace agreements, and you will see. Every single one has been violated, or turned down, by Palestinian leadership. They do not WANT a fair, equal solution. They want to kill the Jews. The end.
And you defend them.
I have to say that I am overwhelmed at the anti semitism coming to light once again. It's terrifying.
I agree. I had a comment but edited my post because I'm not reading this thread anymore. It's obvious that the OP is trying to start trouble.
How am I starting trouble? Most other people have been extremely nasty...I am only statingy belief just as everyone else is. The Palestinians deserve a voice as well.

I am as left wing as they come. I never once said anything about Arabs or Muslims. Ever. I welcome peace. I also know the history. Well. And have lived there, through it. I do not hate civilians. I feel sympathy and empathy. I do hate terrorists. I don't defend them.

Israelis have 15 seconds to get to a shelter when the sirens go off. People are going about their lives and then have 15 seconds to run. If you are on the road, you hide under your car. No one is watching events unfold like it is a movie and they are removed from the action. No one is rejoicing. It is happening in real life and in real time. And it is scary.

I'm unsure if that's true...editing does exist. But please know there are plenty of sources that display Israelis ecstatic over the death of Palestinian children. Israel is far from innocent.

"If Israel would stop demolishing Palestinian homes and creating illegal settlements on land that was not given to them, then maybe things can start to improve as well."
I may well need a brushing up on my history, but as far as "land not given to them..." I mean, come on. These are territories Israel acquired after they were attacked first right? The 6 day war, the Yom Kippur War...Israel did not invade these places as I understand it. Pardon me if this was addressed in an earlier post, I read most but not all. If my facts are correct than the op's above statement is very misleading.

I'm not unsure. And yes, there are people who hate on both sides. There are. But only one side has a mandate that clearly states its goal is to kill Jews and destroy Israel.
You haven't addressed that point at all.

Re: Still support Israel?
I'm seriously asking. Because nobody has responded.
To those that are pro-Palestinian - how can you defend a group (Hamas) who has it written explicitly in their charter that their only goal is to kill Jews and destroy Israel? And that this is the only acceptable end result?

I think some of the confusion lies in the fact that that was the elected government but also a terrorist organization

I'm curious, what background are you?
I am Palestinian American. My parents were born there and moved here when they were teens. Growing up we would visit during summers. We lived there between the time I was 12-16 years old. I've been there three times since. I grew up on Long Island. I have many friends that are Jewish. I am not Muslim, I am christian. When i lived there i had some israeli friends. i dont hate jewish people. I am not a very political person so I don't constantly read all the propaganda. Most of what I know is from personal experience.

Not all Palestinians support Hamas. But for others I think that they feel Hamas is all they have as far as a resistance force. Palestine has no support and no military defense...against a country that receives billions of dollars in aide

But Israel has agreed, numerous times, to ceasefires. ISRAEL sends aid to Gaza. Israel left Gaza with infrastructure in place.
I agree that civilians on both sides are victims. They are. The average joe on the street doesn't get a say in the military actions of either side. But Hamas is a terrorist group. The majority of the Western world, including the US, recognizes them as such. So tell me, please, seriously, what solution or resolution would you like to see?

With all due respect, their land was basically taken from them. Please correct if I am wrong? A very, very, small piece of land was "given" back to them. . Actually, it wasn't anyone's land. 120 plus years agoit was desolate and sparsely populated while under British control. European Jews were better organized and did a great deal to modernize and develop the area. They ended up with it.

Israel drops leaflets, makes phone calls and sends text messages before it proceeds. The idf has several toms called off operations bc civilians were there. Hamas uses civilians as human shields. They hide bombs and weapons in homes, schools, mosques and hospitals. They have a series of hundreds of terror tunnels burrowed into Israel to murder and kidnap civilians and soldiers. Hamas has broken 3 ceasefires in the past week. When Israel left Gaza 7 years ago, they left them an infrastructure to build a paradise and the Hamas leaders destroyed greenhouses and everything else and live in the lap of luxury while their people live in poverty.
Israel has set up field hospitals to help the Palestinian wounded and allows them to be treated in Israeli hospitals.
If Hamas puts down their weapons there will be peace. If Israel puts down her weapons, there will be no Israel.
Perfectly said
