My Grandmother is at an assisted living in Bohemia and I think it's really nice.

Re: Sad Situation - Nursing Homes:
I don't have recommendations for our east, but my advice is to go visit often. Some staff will treat patients differently based on how often family comes to visit.
DH's uncle was being treated awful when he first arrived, since DH just had knee surgery and couldn't get there. I went with my son and started making a fuss. He had been complaining about pain in his stomach, which was ignored until I came...turned out he had stones!
and don't judge the place by how it looks. The lobby of this place was gorgeous! but the staff could care less.
on the other hand, my family went to visit my grandfather a few times a week. My grandfather was a crabby old man and the staff was still so kind to him.
