Spinoff to the parking spot question...
If you have to pee and the Handicap stall is open, do you pee there or do you wait for other stalls to free up?
This is a serious question!
I travel alot for work so sometimes I pee in the HC stall because it has room for my luggage. I feel like a horrible human being after reading the other post about the parking spots!

I will use the HC stall if no one else is in the bathroom or on line that visibly looks like they need it. Plus I would expect them to just go to that stall and cut the line if they needed it.
I will use the the HC stall when I have DS with me in his stroller because I need to roll him in there with me. He wouldn't fit in a normal stall.

I use it, when i have the children with me. It is so much easier than trying to squeeze into the regular stall with 2 children.
otherwise, I usually stick with the regular stall...although there has been times when the bathroom was kinda gross, with the exception of the HC Stall...(i guess because people tend to avoid it) so I may use it if the rest of the bathroom is filthy

i only use the HC stall if no others are open with the exception of my work bathroom. Its a key open room only and it has two stalls and no one is handicapped in the building so I will go to that one at times.
When my niece and nephew were very young and I had them I liked to bring them in that one since I could see them both now that they are seven they can go in their own stall.

Same here ! I am tall and when hovering in a regular stall ,I tend to smack my head on the door   plus I have my kids with me usually ,so they come in with me !

I will in the gym in my building because no one uses that bathroom when I'm there usually.
I've never had to wait online for the other bathroom in my building, so I never use it in there. I have noticed that some of the larger women on my floor do routinely though.
ETA: I'm always reminded of that Seinfeld episode when this comes up.

same here. i would never use it if there were other stalls open unless i have the kids with me. the strollers don't fit in a regular stall. same goes when i'm clothes shopping. i can only fit the stroller in the HC room but i absolutely would give it up and wait if someone HC needed it.

I prefer not to use it since the seat is a lot higher than normal. If it is the only one open (like a movie theater or something) I will use it, but not willingly. I usually try to pass it up.

ETA: Before anyone gets their panties all bunched up, seriously, I've been to bathrooms where the stalls are so tiny that it is difficult to even turn around without having to step over the bowl...I use whatever becomes available first.

If there's a regular stall open and the HC stall, I'll usually go regular unless the regular one is gross. If it's the only open one, then I'll use it. I just try to be quick about it, just in case.

This thread reminds me of something I overheard in a bathroom once when I was much younger and it always stuck with me.
A teenage girl went into the handicap stall and said to her friend- "do me a favor and just let me know if any handicap people come in"
That just struck me funny for some reason!
I always pictured a handicap person walking in right then and her friend telling her and her coming out of the stall mid pee to give it up to the person who really needs it!

If there is absolutely no other stall, yes use it.
One time I went in the HC stall it at my old job and the second I got in, I heard a woman in a wheel chair come in. I only locked to door and wasnt mid pee or anything, so I got out and she was very thankful for that. I just waited for the next stall to open.
There were two women in wheelchairs at my job and one would get p!ssed if someone was in the HC stall and the other just didnt seem to mind.
