QUESTION FOR YOU LADIES:

Who here is going to BF?

I'm planning on BFing. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to EBF once I go back to work b/c I don't have a typical 9-5 office job where I can pump at regular intervals. There are times during the day, and especially at night, where I'm traveling all over the state to meet with clients. I guess I'll see how it goes.

Hello ladies! I willbe 26 weeks tomorrow. Dh has beed feeling the baby a lot lately. I have not taken or signed up for any classes yet. But i did rent the Laugh & Learn video from my local library. I am thinking of taking the Infant CPR & the breastfeeding classes. I have to find out when they are available. I also want to do the hospital tour.

Dani, which Laugh and Learn video will you be watching? I heard there are several. I'm borrowing both the Laugh and Learn Childbirth and L & L About Newborn. Also borrowing it from the library. If the DVDs are good DH and I probably won't need to take classes... :D

I borrowed the Childbirth one. So far it is very informative. I didnt know there was a newborn one. I will have to see if my library has it...Thanks for the info!!!

I definately plan to BF. I hope I don't have any issues BFing.

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!

How are the December mommies doing?

I just had another appointment today. I had my iron checked and everything looked good. The doctor also measured my belly for the first time. The heartbeat is still in the 150s. At each appointment, the baby kicks the doppler pretty often. Chat Icon I don't think the baby likes to be disturbed.

I got my paperwork for the glucose test. I'm not looking forward to that, but hopefully I'll pass the 1 hour test.

Has everyone accomplished a lot recently? We finished registering, but haven't chosen furniture or signed up for any classes yet. I also need to start visiting daycares and get on a waiting list.

Good idea, to kick up the thread!
Sounds like you are making progress.

I did finally finish registering, this week, thank GOD. That was a chore. I have furniture picked out, but haven't ordered it yet. Just trying to decide what peices I need and want.

I have to pick out a PED, that's my next task. Should be a toughie. I also have to order my cord blood registry kit.

I am doing my diabetes 3 hr this week.

I have to clean out the baby's room, and DH has to paint (pretty soon we will do this).

I have an appt set up for touring the hospital and going to the bapstim class to get that over with.

Picking a ped is the most important task to me...I gotta get on that.

And to answer the above ?, I don't plan to BF, after much consideration.

I haven't even thought about that yet. Chat Icon I wasn't planning on looking into pediatricians for another month or two. I figure I'll ask my OB/GYN for recommendations.

Hi Ladies,

I'm 26 weeks 2 days.

I just did my 1 hr glucose test yesterday. I Chat Icon that I passed it.

I have my next doctor's appt next Tuesday. Hopefully, all is well.

I have been stalking my registry....lol
I can't help myself. I know my shower is not until October, things are being bought...it's exciting!

I still want to get the Laugh and Learn DVD. I don't think I will be signing up for lamaze. I heard that DVD is very comprehensive.

With pediatricians....I haven't set up any consultations. I don't know if it's too soon.
When is everyone doing this???

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!

I had my shower on Saturday and am in NY until this Sat. It was really nice. We got a LOT of stuff(most not from my registry but whatever)-got lots of gift cards and some cash too.

I am feeling good-will be 25 weeks on Sat. The babies move every day pretty much all day long. My next Dr's appt is 9-18 so I guess I will find out about my glucose test then.

My fingers are really swollen and at night and in the morning it feels like I have arthritis until I get them moving around. Same thing with my feet. Besides for that feeling goodChat Icon

PS I am planning to BF and pump

Hi all,

I'm doing very well. So thrilled that I don't have previa any more! Had my glucose and iron test at the last appointment and all is well. I have my next appointment 9/19 and my shower is 9/21! (not that much is gone from my registry yet, but I'm also having a small shower- about 20-25 people). I got some recommendations for pediatricians but haven't called any yet. I'm also hoping to breastfeed exclusively for at least awhile. I will have about 4 months maternity so will have to pump before going back to work. I'm getting soo excited to meet my DD! I'm 28 weeks :)

Got a few questions for the December mommies....

1. Have you ordered your nursery furniture yet?

2. Have you had your shower? If not, when?

3. Are you ready to be a mommy in a few months? :D

Hi all!

I'm hanging in there. Most of you know that pregnancy hasn't been an easy go for me. I'm definitely counting the weeks until Chat Icon gets here.

I do know that I will have an elective c-section because of my back problems, so she may even wind up being a November baby! Chat Icon But we'll see.

Flying to NY this weekend for our NY baby shower, will have another one here in NC in early November.

Time is FLYING, but I am so excited to finally have her here!!!

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!

Looks like I have missed the recent bumps! To answer the older questions: I do plan on BF, I hope to do it exclusively, but will supplement with formula if that doesn't work out. I am trying to arrange a work-at-home situation which would make exclusive BF much easier!

Things are going great, the baby loves to kick straight down, I don't love that quite as much, but I do love feeling it move all the time. We have picked out a Ped, I love her and am so excited to have that figured out. I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow, at my last appt, we scheduled the glucose test, my Dr does it the 29th week, so hopefully that goes well! We have finished registering, I tried to order teh furiniture, but it is out of stock, they are supposed to call and let us know when it will become availabe - that was 3 weeks ago, I'm starting to get nervous! We haven't started the nursery at all, we should probably start thinking about that one Chat Icon

Haven't had the shower yet, I assume it will be early/mid November - is anyone else going to be suprised by the shower, or do you know when it is?

As for being ready to be a mommy..... I am excited, not sure if I am exactly ready, I am nervous scared and can't wait all that at once!

1. Nope. because we haven't sold our apartment yet and we have no room for a real nursery until we move :( We did pick it out though.

2. My shower is this Sunday!!!!!!!

3. Very very ready! It still seems unbelievable that Im going to be a mom so soon, but I am ready and so excited!

Yes, that is what I have read. It's so confusing!!

So, if I listen to the 27 week....then I'm in my third trimester, since I'm 27 weeks and 2 days. Otherwise, I start it next week.
I think I'll ask the doctor today at my appt.

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!

Hello girls!!!
I have been feeling pretty good overall. My Chat Icon moves around a lot now...it's so funny when she reacts to loud noises! Last night I went to the Celine Dion concert and she was moving around all over the place!!!!
We finished registering a few weeks ago, and I know my shower is in October, but I am not sure yet of the specific date. I am trying not to check the registry, b/c I really do want to be surprised! We'll see if I have the willpower!Chat Icon
I have my glucose test in my 28th week...and I am just starting my 26th now.
We're going to use a PNP bassinet for Chat Icon until she grows out of it, and after that we found a crib that we both really like.
It's starting to feel really "real" at this point, even though we still have a few months left. I get nervous sometimes, but it's so exciting!!!!!!!!!
We did a 3D sono and at least I got to see the face of the Chat Icon that is giving me all the heartburn and swelling!!!Chat Icon
Glad you're all doing well!!!! We're almost there!!!!!!Chat Icon

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!

Hi ladies! I've been feeling good although my heartburn returned yesterday Chat Icon and I think I started having some Braxton Hicks too. My belly got pretty tight. It wasn't painful though. The baby kicks all the time and I'm starting to feel a lot of rolls.

I start the 3rd trimester on the 25th, which is also our 3rd anniversary. Chat Icon I can't believe how quickly time is flying.

We started looking at furniture, but haven't picked anything yet. The furniture won't be delivered until after the baby arrives anyway so I'm not too concerned. My mom is throwing me a surprise shower. I'm only coming down to NY 3 or 4 times so it has to be one of those weekends.

Sometimes I get nervous about being a mom. I'm kind of afraid that I'm not going to know how to take care of a baby and won't be able to distinguish hunger cries from other cries. Right now, I'm more afraid about giving birth though. I really need to stop watching the Discovery Health channel programs on deliveries. Chat Icon

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!

feeling great for the most part although this has been such a crazy year for me!!

i am 24 weeks tomorrow, and technically not due till jan7th, but at next weeks dr appt, they are going to discuss a scheduled c section, because of alot of health reasons (i may have to have abdominal surgery after they pull her out) so we'll see...maybe she will make an early appearance..

i am planning on BFing, and since i didnt even try it with my DS i am SOOO nervous, i think im more nervous about that then being a mommy again after 10 years...
i ordered my furniture, im having a sprinkle sometime end of Nov early dec..
and im constantly shopping off of my own registry, because im slightly insane!! lol

2. my shower is nov8th! cant wait!

3.i am very nervous! i worry about logistics more than anything- like once i go back to work, how will i manage getting myself and the baby ready for daycare and making it in to work on time- and of course who will pick up the babyChat Icon somedays i am home by 630, somedays 7/730/8 and dh freelances so he might be home late..
- then i worry that once i get the baby, i have to bathe and feed and worry about cooking dinner.. oh mylanta!
