Re: Talking on the phone while driving

It is rare but when I do I have a bluetooth through my car. It came with the car. It requires NO hands, it's very easy. My music will mute, it will let me know I have an incoming call and from my steering wheel I can answer/ignore. So, if it is important (like from DH or my mom about Kenneth) I'll answer it because it is legal that way and requires no hands from me. I usually keep it very quick either way.

I enjoy listening to my music in the car - I don't like the phone, it takes me from my music.

I NEVER, EVER text. I saw a kid last night - I was behind him and next to him for several miles, he was ALL over the road!! It was sick. He was texting the entire time. Chat Icon

Re: Talking on the phone while driving

I only answer the phone while driving if it's my DH & I always use speaker phone & keep it on my lap. But honestly, I am still taking my hands off the wheel & looking at the phone for a few seconds so I don't know if it's any better than speaking on the phone like normal.

edited to add that I agree with Danielle.. I hate when the phone rings in the car because I'd rather listen to music. The car is my only me time!

OH Exactly!! It is the only time of the day where I get a few moments to just myself. I actually like having a commute for that reason! Chat Icon

My new car has the bluetooth built in - it turns down the radio and links in so I can just talk via a speaker in the ceiling. I love it, even if I don't have much need to use it. I can set it up to dial via voice command using a button on the steering wheel to activate it.

Me too, I love it but people complain that they have a hard time hearing me bc of the background noise, which is annoying...Chat Icon

My car has bluetooth. I only use that.

Using a phone while driving is very dangerous. They should make a law that makes it illegal I'm sure everyone would follow it.

Re: Talking on the phone while driving

Since seeing all the ads and info on what talking on the phone or answering text does to your concentration while driving, I never touch the phone while I am driving anymore.

Re: Talking on the phone while driving

I have an earpiece. I will not answer or talk to the phone without it.
