This isn't about her 'not caring' about her carbon footprint or overpopulation. Her faith - her RELIGION - has taught her that GOD knows better than she does, than you do, than anyone does. She feels that God will not allow her to get pregnant when he feels that she's done. Until then, she just keeps on keeping on. She is probably petrified on some level. She is probably worried about her health and her children's health and her unborn child's health.. but she has faith that God has not misled her and that everything will be okay.
I think it's admirable that she has that much faith. I hope she and the baby are safe.

I hope Michelle and the baby stay healthy and safe. Josie almost didn't make it and Michelle could have died in her last pregnancy. I would think this occurred against medical advice.

I think it's admirable that she has that much faith. I hope she and the baby are safe.
 I'm so not religious but I also wouldn't judge her for not wavering in her faith.
Also, I'm pretty sure I remember her saying she had preeclampsia at least once or twice before in some of her early pregnancies. I'm sure she can't imagine having stopped then so I knew this likely wouldn't stop her from leaving it up to god once again, as she sees it.

I'm so not religious but I also wouldn't judge her for not wavering in her faith.

See this. This is even more concerning.
There HAS to be a limit to the number of times they can open you like that.
And you NEVER know if you will need a C with each pregnancy.
For that ALONE she needs to be careful!
Apparently she never had a planned c-section but this 18th delivery (she had 2 sets of twins) will be the first. I can't imagine any OB allowing that knowing this is her 4th c-section.
i thought she only had 1 c early on.. and then the Josie thing. She's a huge advocate for Vbac. I read that on her website.

And just because the kids are getting fed, clothed and housed doesn't mean they're getting raised in a loving home with individual parenting and guidance from their parents...
and God forbid one of the parents get sick or something else...I don't see how that is socially responsible
And I don't get how the parents are SO PROUD they shelter their kids from other influences and information, only allowing them to hang out with other similar families, etc (breeding intolerance) YET put the family on TV--seems hypocritical
They might be a happy family, but I guess we all would be if our parents kept us completely disconnected from the outside world (minus the chaperoned field trips)
And then they grow up to be voting Duggars who have never thought for themselves but only what their mom & dad have drilled into their head...

Well, I don't think she is saying that God is telling her to have all these kids. She believes this is a plan god has for her.... to just get pregnant how ever many times he wants her to be.
The whole thing started with her when she had her first pregnancy and miscarriage. She wrote that she was on birth control and got pregnant... she ended up miscarrying and believes the mc to be due to the birth control. she felt incredibly guilty for that... and it seemed like she felt she somehow messed up gods plan and gift for her. so they basically vowed to never use birth control and to throw caution to the wind... just leaving it all up to gods hands to grant them however many kids they end up with.
It's not so much a matter of hearing god tell her to do these things... so the killing or any of that wouldn't ever come into play.
i think it's A LOT of kids to have. I don't know that I think it's fair to the older kids at all... being they have to raise the younger ones. I think it raises a lot of medical issues, especially now with the last baby. BUT it's not my decision to make. These people are not on public assistance of any kind. They are actually very decent people who make sure to instil morals into each of their kids. So sure they are overpopulating Arkansas but at the same time... they have some great core values and so I'm torn on it all. I certainly don't mind them the way I would for someone living in the projects to be on their 8th kid, totally living off the system wearing the newest jordans while the kids all suffer. I guess to me... at least they are overpopulating with decent human beings.
I also want to add.... and as crazy as this might sound... the carbon footprint thing... they probably have a smaller carbon footprint than most families of substantially smaller sizes. They only buy 2nd hand stuff (clothes, shoes, baby stuff, etc).... their house is well equipped with modern energy saving conveniences, etc. They had a whole episode on it.

They only buy 2nd hand stuff (clothes, shoes, baby stuff, etc).... their house is well equipped with modern energy saving conveniences, etc. They had a whole episode on it.
Yes but god forbid everyone thought like this? How socially responsible is that? Like I said in my other post, because they CHOOSE to put themselves in the public eye, I will judge their actions.

This family is not to be admired
They are very controling. Only homeschooling and an online Christian prep course to be done from home. never to be intermingled in the education sector even past 18. I certainly hope the pregnancy is a healthy one for mother and baby but at the same time I hope the Duggars can let thier children become individuals and create thier own thoughts. Until then the grown girls have to take care of all the children thier mother continues to birth. Read the comments about those on the Today show set- it is like a light left thier eyes
And as long as they continue to exploit thier family for reality tv than we all as the viewing public are entitled to an opinion

I have to agree with you. I just finished watching their special on TV tonight on the questions the public has asked them. When the question about if someone wanted to date the girls and that the father would have to make that decision, it made me sick to my stomach. They have no minds of their own. They seem to only be good to cook and clean and take care of the kids they keep having. After that they are just to get married (and ONLY to kiss the person they plan to marry) and I am sure cook, clean and have babies of their own.

maybe I'm overtired here... but I'm not fully understanding what you are writing in response to what you quoted.
I would like to imagine everyone thinking like this... to reduce their carbon footprint. It's very important, globally, to minimize our level of consumption. I get they have a large family... but they do more on this aspect than most families of much smaller sizes... so I can't pick them apart on this particular topic.
I try not to judge.... even those in the public eye. But judging is a human emotion and we all do it at times.

do they want to? is it what is expected of them? do they ever talk on camera about how they feel about having that responsibility?
