Re: *THE OFFICIAL MOMMY MAKEOVER CHALLENGE! now with 25 members! Mommies, check in for Week One please

Just did an old WW workout DVD. It was low key, which is what I needed after a day like today. Actually would have preferred to do c25k, but DH still isn't home from work.

Re: *THE OFFICIAL MOMMY MAKEOVER CHALLENGE! now with 25 members! Mommies, check in for Week One please

got outside for a while tonight... figured i'd get in C25K while it's nice out (rain forecasted for tomorrow and fri). I need a longer warm up and cool down, but I'm getting there!

My "warmup" is a brisk walk to the high school track (about 1/3 mile), then I do the workout on the track. Nice easy running surface!

I'm super limited on time tomorrow, so I'll just be doing the 30 day shred video (or as much of it as i can stand) for the first time. (thanks meg)

I don't get home from work until about 6:15, so i realllly have to budget my time.

I'm adding time management skills to my goal! Chat Icon

my schedule:
work til 5:30
pick up baby at sitter
pull into home parking lot at 6:15
up the stairs to the 2nd floor with baby and gear
kiss up the baby, hand off to DH for a diaper change and bib application
prep a snack for him (today was yogurt and a cucumber stick)
remove makeup, hair in pony
change into sweats
make dinner
dinner on the table by 7 (the ONLY way this works is advance planning. menu has to be set, ingredients have to be on hand)
eat, clear dishes, load dishwasher
throw sneaks on
head out to car with baby BY 8pm, get stroller from trunk, and begin workout!
back home by 9
prep food and feed baby
hand off to DH for mushy falling asleep time while i'm in the kitchen prepping tomorrow's bottles, breakfast and lunch for baby
kiss baby goodnight, deposit in crib by 9:30
SHOWER!
computer time
bed!

1st bridesmaid dress fitting is 6/17. 2 weeks away!

Im in Smithtown, right off Townline though, so REALLY close to the HS...Ill meet you there one night a week to hold you accountable!

Can you leave DS with your DH maybe one of the nights you go running and make it a "me time" night? Its always nice to get some just you time and clear your head. I think thats why Im actually LOVING the C25K....its just me and my thoughts. Not a million people at a gym, nothing. I like the 45 minutes of quiet time.

Did 30 day shred-level 3 and was perfect on my WW points.

If I don't lose this week I am going to lose IT and eat a whole pizza while I jump all over my 30 day shred DVD.

On a side note, I also made an appt to get my hair cut and colored tomorrow-making over my head in addition to my bodyChat Icon

Am I too late to join?? I just started a real workout plan today....and would love to keep track of it and get confidence from everyone else. I just started the 30 day shred... only level one since I havn't done it in over a year...but it wasn't that bad at all. So on to level 2 I go tomorrow. I already walk daily with my DS... my area is nothing but hills...so I walk for about 2 hours at a steady fast pase. I've been eating healthy since I foudn out I was pregnent... so now I just need to figure out how many calories I consume per day LOL.

I totally agree with this! Nights when DH works late I'm stuck at home doing a video I find I can't focus on myself & the workout. It's all about cleaning the house, will DS wake up, I have to make dinner - you name it. The other night with c25k it was all about me & getting fit. Even though it's going to rain the next few day my butt is going to be out working the program.

i love running with him in the stroller! i have the ipod hookup on the stroller, so it plays out of a speaker. he giggles when i change activities (walking/jogging) - the breeze must feel good on his face :)

And the stroller add extra weight to the workout, no?

I did Week 2/Day 1 of c25k on Tuesday night and my left knee is absolutely killing me since then. I don't know what to do, I'm supposed to do day 2 tonight but I don't want to push it. Maybe if I just jog really slowly? Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice?

I was able to do a Cybex machine circuit last night (arms/abs) but I wanted to give my knee a night off.

HOLY MAGNOLIA!

I did my first day of Couch to 5k yesterday and WOW... I must be REALLY out of shape!

That was incredibly difficult for me! I honestly didn't think I was going to make it through. I almost stepped off because I was dying, but then it said it was my LAST run - so I pushed through! Even with the 5 minute cool-down, when I stopped the treadmill, I literally almost passed out! How embarrassing would that have been??? My vision started going black and I had to grab the side of the treadmill and sit down. UGH - I hate how out of shape I am!

Today I'm feeling it, but not as bad as I thought it would be! I have to say I'm glad that it's not an everyday thing because I don't think I could do it!

Tonight I'll do some on-demand ABS stuff...

And hopefully tomorrow do W1D2 of C25k as long as my neck is feeling better! I'm hoping I just slept on it wrong, but my neck is killing me today!

I couldn't walk the first few days hahaha. Keep up with it!! Your body will adjust!!! I'm on week 5 and didn't think I could run for 5 minutes straight lol!!!

honestly, have you tried better sneakers? The last time I worked out, my knee was KILLING me.....turns out it was the lack of shock absorption in my sneaker. I got better sneakers and it has stopped?

Are you running in the street, on a sidewalk, a treadmill...the surface could make a difference too.

Hmm - I am currently wearing some old azz sneakers. Maybe this weekend I will see if I can get a new pair. Thanks! Also, I am running either on the treadmill or at a school track.

Definitely look into more shock absorbing sneakers....could be the treadmill too its a really hard surface to come down on. I cant do the treadmill either.http://www.zappos.com/product/7618955/color/228265

FINALLY joining the party- just saw this. Thanks Hayley!Chat Icon

Diet - portion control, less snacking
Workout Plan - 30 day shred (20 minute video) every day, then hope to start Stroller Strides classes in the summer at least 3 x's a week
Goals - to get back into my original size and not feel GROSS!! I'd like to lose at least 10 lbs. But I'd love 15. I really mostly just want to get back into my old clothes without stuffing myself into them.

Start date - 6/3
first workout with 30 day shred!

Yesterday did W1D2 of c25k. It went better than day 1 for sure. I changed my route a bit & only had one major hill on the 4th run. I turned up the music & made it up the hill. Then I realized I need to carry my inhaler at all time when I run. Not cute...

Hoping today to get out & walk with DH & DS in the midst of all the stuff we have to do today. We'll see!

Also bought new sneakers yesterday thanks to MAM's post on Road Runner. I should receive them by Monday!Chat Icon
