I love what Obama says; he has great vision. He has ZERO experience/plans on how to EXECUTE these plans.
But here's the thing...he doesn't NEED the experience to be able to execute the vision. That's why he'll be surrounded with some of the best lawmakers and decision-makers while he's in office.
Think about it...do you REALLY think G.W. was the one behind all of the actions that took place these last 8 years? He can barely speak a coherent sentence without his aides and advisors. I truly believe that we have NOTHING to lose by having someone with brains in office.

Im sorry, I just said my father died of cancer (unexpectedly and when I was 17 I might add) - and I had to put my big girl panties on and find employment that had health benefits instead of staying at my current job and whining about it - (i was a waitress by the way, so it wasnt like I needed 2 college degrees to get it) and you are telling me that my life choices have been kind?
a LOT of people are LAZY and that is a problem in America.
yes, there are people who have no choice - but they are few and far between.
you should read what I said again.
actually, don't bother. I don't think you have a broad enough lens to take it all in.
oh yes, you are too smart and philosophical for me

And he also needs $$$$$$$. And lots of it - which we don't have. (and yes that is partly Bush's fault, we know that already)
I personally WANT someone who has experience, jmo.

I didn't say that at all nor do I think it b/c I don't know you....but still, so big of you to acknowlege and kind of you to say.
there is a difference between knowlege and world view. as well as intelligence and world view.
there is also a choice in world view which does not exist in innate intelligence. you can't chose how smart you are.

That's true...but McCain will need money as well. No matter what, the taxpayers are going to have to buy their way outta this one. The only difference in tactics (that I've seen and heard so far) is that Obama is the only one willing to be HONEST about the amount of money he needs. McCain is somehow still telling tale tales of tax cuts.

That's another thing I am glad you pointed out.
The KIDS. give the kids a chance. LEt them go to a good school, good doctors, good place to live...are the kids lazy?
I hate the blanket statements.
Do you think most what to live paycheck to paycheck? or welfare check to welfare check?> never vacation? never have a house?>

I agree with you.
Regardless of who wins, we've not seen an economic mess like this one in a really long time, if ever. Neither candidate can claim any experience in cleaning up something of this magnitude, and it may be left for future presidents beyond the next one to fully repair.

nervous. It seems like in the past few years, our circle of peers have more degrees under their belt, working more hours...yet doing worse then a couple of years ago. I don't feel like we are moving in the right direction, I feel a the gap widening and it makes me nervous.
I guess I never thought about it, but I really don't know that many republicans. This site has got me feeling queesy lately. Its like access into the young republican's mind. Thought processes are so different. Mindsets really aren't that alike at all.
So without this site, I may have just been upset if my candidate did not win. Now, it will leave me feeling sort of sick.
Why will you feel sick?
I don't think the poor stand a chance. I thought there was more humanity out there, there's not. People pay taxes. People without kids don't get a chance to take the deduction...people without homes don't get a chance to take the deduction...Someone's got to pay though.
I am not a bracket where I make more then 250,000...but you know what? I wish I was, I wouldn't mind paying more in tax if that was the tradeoff.
The country is full of children without a voice. Tons of them...some born to parents who aren't lucky in life, others who just don't try for a better life. All these kids deserve the right to basic needs. Good schools, food, shelter, insurance.
So I am still a little confused...you are queasy b/c you got a look into young republican's minds and republicans are inhumane? I am not a registered republican, at least not yet, but I think you are making a bit of a generalization that seems to imply that republicans are inhumane. in fact, articles have been written that state that conservatives give 30% more to charity than liberals do and that 28 of the 29 most "generous" states voted for Bush in the last election while 17 of the 21 "least generous" states voted for Kerry. Just food for thought.
