my first 'tears' over a celebrity death was for Jerry Orbach - from many things - but Law & Order was his 'best fit' for me...
and please - he was the Dad in Dirty Dancing - no one puts Baby in a corner..

I actually was really sad when John Ritter died too. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to meet him and he was such a nice man.
ETA: Steve Irwin too. I am a huge fan of him and all he has done for wildlife conservation.

For me, because of my age and the culture I grew up in, it will always be Michael Jackson. I grew up on him.
Marvin Gaye's death also affected me.
Princess Diana's death also had a very deep affect on me.

Princess Diana was the hardest one for me to take, to date.
but MJ is a close 2nd.
