Re: An open question to McCain supporters....
I think that many people give the President way too much credit and power in their minds.
10% of what each candidate proposes will ever get made into law. If that.
for those who are scared of socialism..well what we have going on now isn't working very well is it?
No matter, who gets in, it will take way more than 4 years to make things "right". This election is historical for many reasons, but there won't be a whole lot of change in the next 4 years.
Apologies to the OP, I didn't add to your thread the way you wanted..I just wanted to state my opinion, and it is just my opinion...you don't have to agree.

I agree with you on certain points, but this article had me thinking http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html?mod=rss_opinion_main
I am a full supporter of checks and balances. I feel a lot better when there is a republican president and democratic senate or vice versa.

Re: An open question to McCain supporters....
I don't know if this is relative at all but after all this negativity, I felt compelled to throw my two cents in. I am a McCain supporter but I do not think Obama would be a horrible President either. I agree more with McCain on almost all aspects but that doesn't make me want to bash Obama or make any ridiculous or racist remarks against him.
I just don't understand any of this.... Can't we just respect each other's beliefs and agree to disagree?

once again, you posted a list...you must have a reason for posting the list, what is the reason? and gays and lesbians are not excluded because you INCLUDED them, you, not me, included them on your "list"

RIDICULOUS. So if we go with your train of thought that you are automatically the same as who endorses you.
So since Powell endorsed him does that make Obama a decorated military hero?
Warren Buffet endorsed Obama does that make him one of the greatest business minds of our time?
The Chicago tribune endorsed Obama, they have not endorsed a Democrat in over 30 years, does this make Obama a journalist?
Seriously how far does this guilty by association (or lack there of) go.
ETA: Actually I was wrong the Chicago Tribune has NEVER endorsed a democrat for President in its 161 year history until NOW.

Re: An open question to McCain supporters....
Gays, Lesbians, Trans-Gendered for Obama, Planned Parenthood endorsing Obama, etc actually makes me more likely to vote for him.
However, just because someone supports him doesn't mean he supports them.

Several things making me lean towards McCain. Some of them are:
1. His unquestionable and complete loyalty and service to his country - both while in the military and Vietnam, and his many years as senator.
2. His understanding of the need for small businesses to be allowed to be profitable and to remain in the US and the fact that he does not believe that "tax the rich" is the answer to every problem.
3. His repeated emphasis on the need to cut frivolous spending.
4. His understanding that although the war in Iraq is unpopular and everyone wants the troops to come home, to simply "pull out" without planning would be detrimental to the security of the US.
5. I feel confidence in his leadership and experience. I think the "real" McCain is the person he was in past years and that he has not accurately portrayed his "true" views on issues during this campaign. Unfortunately for some reason he feels he has to pander to his constituents.
6. Yes I am pro choice, however, I cannot be held hostage by a candidate on one social issue.
I agree with everything you wrote, word for word. couldn't have said it better!!
