Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
I'm taking 1 bag (kinda big) that I started to pack last week. I got it free at VS around the holidays I also live right down the block from my hospital so I'm not really worried about having everything, anyone can just run to my house and pick up whatever I need.
This is the size... (ETA: it's an old sale flyer)

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
I had one bag. I mainly used an old job the first day over whatever scrubs they gave me, or gown since that's when you bleed a lot. By day 2 I wore sweats/t-shirt
So I had: comfy clothes robe shower stuff (small bag with trial stuff) phone charger snacks photos big grannie underpants cord blood kit take home outfit for baby
I think that's it.
DH was in charge of cameras, etc.

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
2 bags since i didn't want a huge piece of luggage. This time I will have 2 bags again, but 1 for labor, and 1 for after. That way we won't have as much and I can have exactly what I want/need. We'll bring the after bag up, well after and just start with the labor bag.

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
Small suitcase with wheels...
comfy, cute clothes (tanks, comfy or drawstring pants, granny panties) nonslip slippers socks chord blood kit bathroom stuff (hairbands, shampoo/cond, some makeup, lotion, face wash) bras robe phone charger
DH will have his own and take camera, snacks, video camera, Ipad, change of clothes and bathroom stuff for himself
ETA - I wound up using the hospital's socks and panties they provided anyway. LOL! Don't forget to have your DH take home any stuff the hospital gives you... diapers, formula, pads, etc

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
I had one big duffel bag/suitcase.
I had DD's coming home outfit, a few onesies/socks
Then for me I had one nightgown and two sets of pajamas
I think like 8 pairs of underwear (c-section I knew I was staying for 3-4 days and sometimes you need more than one pair a day if you have an "oops") slippers light cotton robe Yoga pants and tee shirts Going home outfit pads face wipes trial size shampoo/conditioner/body wash contact solution/contacts toothbrush/toothpaste a few books and my cell phone charger. Plus i had the boppy
This time I will probably use my diaper bag for DD's things and bring a smaller bag for me...I didn't use all the clothes I brought, so I'll probably not bring as much this time...plus I won't need DD's things/bag until well after the delivery. She spent most of her time in the hospital onesie, swaddled.

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
I ended up having two. I had a Vera Bradley duffel that I packed a few weeks prior to going into labor that was all the essentials that I knew I would need. I figured I would have time to throw in other last minute things before going to the hospital when the time came.
My water broke unexpectedly 2 weeks before my due date, so we ran out with just the duffel. We are 5 minutes from the hospital so DH came back in the middle of the night after DD was born and packed up the other things that we needed for the rest of my hospital stay.

I had: camera/batteries cell phone/charger Ipod/speakers wipes chap stick deodorant for me and DH toothbrushes/tooth paste for both change of clothes for DH (boxers, socks, t-shirt) snacks, hard candies, mints pen and small note pad (why, no clue!) magazines
think that was it.

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
I have a Vera Bradley duffel that I used last time also. I found that I didnt use half the stuff I packed last time so I packed light this time. I also live 5 minutes from the hospital so I can always have DH get me whatever I need if I forgot something. I dont want huge luggage taking up space in the hospital room since I will be there a few days (c section). I basically just have comfy clothes, shower stuff, flipflops, a robe and babys coming home outfit.

Re: BTDT Moms....hospital bag
ME: Clothes Underwear Make-up Shampoo Conditioner Nail File Chapstick Hair Brush Lotion Razor Soap/Shower Gel Flip Flops Contact Case/Solution Glasses Cell Phone Maxi Pads ( I like mine, and not the hospitals)
BABY: 2 coming home outfits: 1 NB, 1 3 month Undershirts 2 Cute hats
You really don't need all of this....but I did. I would have never felt like a human after delivery without my own shampoo, soaps, etc. And then when people visit...I wanted to feel like myself!
I think there's more...my BTDT SIL gave me a packed bag filled with stuff for my shower...was a GREAT gift...and truly helpful! If I think of more..I will post
