Re: Changing the subject to think positive --- bleeding in first tri - w/ UPDATE

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I had full blown bleeding with all 3 of my kids. 3 times with my 1st, 2 times with my 2nd and once with my last baby. I had heavy bleeding and cramps with my 2nd baby, though I didn't bleed heavily for long. Maybe for a few hours. The other times I bled I didn't have any cramps. For me I guess it was normal. It scared the crap out of me every time and I thought for sure I was having a miscarriage, but everything ended up being fine. Chat Icon I hope everything works out.

It is too early though to see anything if you are only in week 5. I never saw a heartbeat until 6.5 - 7 weeks. Chat Icon

Re: Changing the subject to think positive --- bleeding in first tri - w/ UPDATE

Thanks to everyone for your prayers, FMs, and sharing your personal experiences with me. Each story that I read gives me a bit more hope.

I am still bleeding, but it's slight bleeding, and the tech said that since she was doing a vaginal sono that could also cause some bleeding. Good news is, it not gushing out - and everything I read says that it's bad if it fills up a maxi pad (and I haven't had that yet)

I will do my best to respond to all Fm's and FB messages. I've been sleeping all night bc the boys had me up at 2:30 and then 5:15 for the day (Obviously they are trying to prepare me for a new baby Chat Icon )

Thinking of you Diana - stay positive. If they sac was there that's great! Given that this baby was surprise, you def. could be off a few days and that makes all the difference in the world at this early stage!

I am praying for you Diana. I know first hand how scary that is. I had bleeding with this pregnancy that I didn't have with the first so I was a nervous wreck. It turned out to be implantation bleeding which was weird because I thought that only happened during yout tww. Apparently I was wrong & glad I was!!!

I wish you a happy & healthy 9 months.

Please keep us updated!

Diana, I hope that everything works out. This post was very helpful for my friend, as she's dealing with something similar right now.

Re: Changing the subject to think positive --- bleeding in first tri - w/ UPDATE 2

Update 2:
So today was pretty decent, I only had some brown bloody discharge which seemed positive to me. But, a little while ago I got the same cramps that I got yesterday morning and I knew when I went to the bathroom there would be blood, and sure enough - there was.

It's so hard to tell how much it is. It comes out in four little drops - so is that spotting? It looks like more once it hits the water though.

I'm still crampy now, so I'm just dreading going to the bathroom. This is every pregnant woman's worst nightmare Chat Icon

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Will you have a followup with the doctor this week? What was the plan when you left the office?

You've been in my thoughts all weekend ... please hang in there. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It definately does look like a ton more when it hits the water...Are you soaking through pads or is it mainly when you use the bathroom ?

This is a VERY positive thing...

"If" indeed you do have a hematoma
( from the replies on your thread you now see how common they are early on) , it is very common to bleed on and off, and the amount will fluctuate, change colors etc...Not sure if the tech looked for that specifically , or she was more focused on determining how far along you were etc....

I have unfortunately been in your shoes and the waiting game really stinks Chat Icon

I'm so sorry you're going through this worry... hopefully it's for nothing!! I had a scare early on, too, so I know how you feel and it sucks. But that's all it was... a scare. Let's hope and pray that's all this is.

God Bless you and your baby!!! I'll be praying for you!

I think it is just spotting. When I had my miscarriage (TMI everyone) the blood was pouring out, much much worse than postpartum bleeding. My cramps weren't just period cramps they were intense labor cramps. If I didn't know there was a six week baby in there I would have thought for sure I'd end up on i didn't know I was pregnant Chat Icon

Also, the amount of blood in the water isn't a big deal. It has been diluted by the water and will always look like much more than there actually is.

Hang in there. I know how much the waiting game stinks. Chat Icon
