Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
I didn't realize it was a live virus. I did give it to DD today but am just nervous now....

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
I gave it to DS back in the day.
And DD has now had 2 doses of it so far. First does was at her 2 month visit... then again at her 4 month visit.
I have a friend who had both her girls, then her and DH, get the rotovirus. She said it was the worst experience of her entire life.
DD will be fine!

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
Yes - I think there's one more round for us...
he had it at his 2 month and 4 month appointments so far.
he had no reaction to any of the vaccinations at the 2 month appointment, but was extra cranky after the 4 month (but no other reactions)

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
I gave it to DD#1 when she was an infant but I guess I don't remember them telling me it was a live vaccine. That's how I rationalized it - it's better for her to get this vaccine that possibly get rotavirus.

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
i never gave it to my children.
DD it had just came out and my ped wasn't offering it.
DS they told me they really only NEED to give it to preemies, kids in NICU, etc.. so he never got it and the never offered it

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
Its a disease that can cause severe dehydration, its very common, I would def get it for DS when its time for him. He wont be in daycare, but I don't want to take the chances with him suffering needlessly.
The vaccine is small tolerable dose of live virus. If your DC is healthy it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
My dd just got the last dose 2 weeks ago. I think she got a little bit of diarrhea from it and was cranky the next day-I don't remember if she got any reaction the first 2 doses.

Re: Did you give your DC the rotavirus vaccine?
Yes, to my younger one and I didn't think twice about it. We weren't offered the vaccine when DD#1 was a baby--she's 4.5 now.
