Can we stop throwing the word BULLY around, please? A kid who has no choice but to go to school, and is picked on there simply for being him or herself is, yes, being bullied. No one HAS to be on LIF, everyone here is a grown up and if they dont like the climate, they can leave. To refer to differences of opinion constantly as bullying is doing a disservice to all those who are truly being bullied every day. Stop with this kumbaya stuff, please!

If you take bullying as seriously as you claim to how can you doubt this thread applies? People are taking cracks at her birth mom... who someone else expressed may have some disability... and isn't even part of this thread or here to defend herself... How is that not bullying?

You know what...I think I've misrepresented what I've been trying to say here. I am not referring to this thread SPECIFICALLY, I just saw the word bully pop up again here after being used to DEATH on LIF and it just kindled my interest in the topic. And THEN the fact that people (the "anti-bullying" people at that!) began attacking me for my opinion was very interesting to me. Anyone on here who claims to have never joined in some type of group bashing (figuratively speaking, NOT literally) is a liar. Some of those who claim to be so much of an advocate for those who are "bullied" starting mocking me for my thoughts, just as some have mocked others on here. Isnt that bullying? Trying to get me to shut up about my opinion by making fun of it?

As is making fun of someone for dyslexia or another learning disability.

i would just ignore it. we all know it is someone who is familiar with the boards and is more than a lurker. even if she had a point, it was lost a long ways back. not worth going back and forth with her.
whatever everyones beef is with janet is their beef. i can't comment because i was not directly involved, i can only go by whay i know. i am not going to pass judgement on anyone on here. everyone who was directly impacted by her is allowed to feel whatever they feel. but i have to say that the post by meNbobs was uncalled for. regardless of whether or not it was quoted from an old post or not, it just crossed the line. It is clear that janets birth mother had some serious issues. no reason to put it out there, and make fun of the woman. this is not her issue, and she wasn't the OP. i just found that to be downright mean. and posting about dyslexia, whether janet truly had it or not, isn't fair either. i'm sure there are plenty of posters on here who have battled dyslexia, and are sensitive to jokes about it. i think when we post, we need to keep things like this in mind. i think this post needs to be put to rest now. enough is enough. everyone said what they have to say, janet hasn't even come on here to defend herself in any way, and this post is just becoming

I am not sure what your intent was to post this, but for me, this post just reaffirms to me that there truly ARE other issues going on with this family. Many other issues much larger than someone wanting "free stuff". And that is what makes me wonder how much of what Janet has done to upset people is out of intent to swindle vs just a load of other issues going on that hinder "normal" social behavior.

Janet was adopted, info she herself made very public, Janets birth Mother was on LIF off and on for a while. My personal opinion was that she was a bit mentally challenged in some fashion. The above post was a quote of something that Janet's birth Mom posted on one of her threads years ago, she posted a pic of Janets real brother and sister as well in an attempt I guess to cheer Janet up for whatever was her issue that day. The 'mom' ,. the pictures etc have been used as comedy ever since.

perhaps you should step away from your ORGY of self-righteousness long enough to question WHY a community would turn so quickly and so thoroughly on one of their own - whom they've seen fit to help out (putting it MILDLY) for years. Hmmm maybe there's a REASON.
perhaps you should wonder why otherwise "nice" posters would weigh in/make light of a PSA from a poster who has done a lot of really UNKIND things to a LOT of people here, LIF as a business included.. hmmm maybe there's a REASON.
