Re: Having a bit of a hard time
Deb, I really wish I could say something of value, but the other ladies have put it better than I ever could.
You are amazingly strong and you are very entitled to feel sad, down, angry, bitter and so much more. That you are in this position is crappy beyond belief and all I can do is send you lots of hugs and say many prayers.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
Gosh... I don't think there is anything I can say to make you feel better or to make your decision easier... I truly truly am sorry you have to go through all of this at such an early age... BUT you really are an inspiration to us all - you have been through so much and have been so strong through it all!!! I am pretty "new" here I guess you can say, but from reading your threads, I can hear the strength behind your words... I know I could not be able to hold it together as well.
With that said, you have every right to scream, cry, kick, punch, etc... you need to let your anger and frustration out!! Scream into a pillow if you have to! I know I've done that in the past!!!
Hugs and prayers for you!

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
I don't know what to say. You are so incredibly strong. Just want to give you some and
FYI: My co-worker had a rather large tumor removed from her brain. It was pressing up against her optical nerve. She was given all the same scary scenarios of surgery as you and she is fine. No eye damage, facial damage, etc.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
Deb, my heart and prayers are with you every day. You are absolutely entitled to feel any way that your heart feels, and express yourself. Those around you know how much youre enduring and know that, not only are you NOT being rude to them, but you are a hero and an inspiration to them, regardless of what words come out of your mouth and how angry you are, youre an incredible person, inside and out.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
All I can say is & make sure that you are talking with someone (like a therapist) who is not so close to your situation. Often times, they have interesting insights!
God Bless You and your family!!! You are in my prayers each day!

I feel the same way...you have my prayers that everything works out....
I hope you can find a therapist or support group that can give you unconditional, objective support....

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
Deb you are the one of the strongest people I "know". You have every right feeling the way you do. I would have snapped long ago. Everyone in your life I'm sure has waited for this to happen. You have stayed VERY strong. Do not feel guilty for showing your fears. My parayers are with you as always. And you know we are ALL here to listen to whatever you have to say.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
There are some great suggestions above. I don't have anything add except:
It sounds like you are handling everything so much better than I could. I really hope something good happens very soon. You deserve some happiness more than anyone I know.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
Deb, I echo the sentiment of all the ladies who said it before me, you're the most amazing, brave, strong etc. woman I have ever had the privilege to "know" as far as message boards let you know someone. I am certain your family and friends do not mind in the least and totally understand when your emotions get the best of you. Please know that you can always come on here and let it out on us. You could even just FM me and take it all out on me. Just venting in some way helps to alleviate the pressure!
I have a friend who is 32 with a 5 yr old daughter who has stage 4 lung cancer and she has the same complaint that the support groups have older people in them. I tell you this so you know you're not alone. There have to be many others out there. If there aren't enough to have a support group in your area, why not try to start one on-line. Maybe even Ron could make a special link/thread on this board for you. If you're interested I could see if my friend would be interested (which I think she would).
I also agree seeing a counselor 1 on 1 with Darren would be a great way to relieve some of the guilt. My friend also told me that her sister also joined a group counseling for family members with cancer. Just a thought for Darren.
I also know that she said taking anti-depressants have helped her with the extreme emotions that come with the territory. Maybe you can try them and see if they help alleviate some of the anxiety.
I wish there were more I had to offer you.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
I'm so sorry. You have been so strong, I know I would have broken down well before now.
I'm sure your family understands why you are snapping at them, and are equally frustrated they can't help you more.
I'll continue to keep you in my prayers to help guide your decision.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time
I'm pretty new on here but have been following your posts for a while. I'm sorry life has dealt you this deck of cards and it's not fair. I don't know what else to say except that I agree with all of the above suggestions and I'm sending you lots of prayers and hugs.
