I can totally understand how you are feeling and what you have been going through. I can try and give you tons of hugs and happy faces to get your mind off things:

Deb, I really wish I could say something of value, but the other ladies have put it better than I ever could.

You are amazingly strong and you are very entitled to feel sad, down, angry, bitter and so much more. That you are in this position is crappy beyond belief and all I can do is send you lots of hugs and say many prayers.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

I don't really have any words for what you are going through and the choices you face and I can only imagine how robbed you feel. How much inspiration you've brought to others is cold comfort when faced with hard realities. You said you can't accept either of those options. I don't think I would be able to either. Is there a third option? Are there 2nd, 3rd, 100th opinions?

Don't feel guilty for lashing out, I'm sure everyone in your family knows you don't mean to hurt them. What you're dealing with has absolutely no instruction manual, and there is no right way to deal with it.

I've never met you, but I love you very much and I'm sure I'm not alone in praying for a miracle.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

Not going to send you hugs, say something like your so strong, cause thats not what you need right now.

you need answers to a horrible horrible situation and Im trying to think how I WOULD make that choice.

I think ultimately I would go with the choice that gave me the best possible outcome, odds wise.

What option gives you a higher likihood of a good life?

What are the precentages of the first surgery versus how long till the tumor takes over in scenario two.

The decision might make me crazy so I think you need if your not on some type of anxiety medication because this is not something to normal human being deals with and I cant imagine many of us -IF any having the strength to do it.

So DO not feel guilty, lets try instead to find a way.

The group thing sounds like its semi helpful but not to a big extent.

I would definatly find out about taking something to relax yourself enough to be able to think without the huge anger and fear that thinking about it involves.

This all probably something you have thought of already.

I wish I could wave a magic wand and make the decision for you.

This is gonna be the hardest thing I think you have ever done.

Hope you will lean on us more if you need to.

Love ya!!!!!

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

Deb you should come on here and vent more...let it out. This is a choice that is totaly not fair, a choice no one should have to make. Sometimes I am so pi$$ed off at your situation I want to scream so I can only imagine your feelings. Please you this as an outlet to no holds barred share what you need with who you need to. Might help relieve any misplaced anger at home.Chat Icon

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

Some of the other ladies have spoken much more eloquently than I ever could. You have every right to feel the way you do. I agree that the group might be somewhat toxic and perhaps a different group or some other form of therapy would be more suited to your needs. Chat Icon

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

Deb-I can only think of this situation as the biggest challenge of your young life.

There are people in this world who would have crumbled under such circumstances.

Yeah, being strong is good but now the people around you need to offer even more support as this tumor seems to be in control.

Don't let it be. You are the one with the control.

You are young and in power. The decisions you make for good or bad will be a part of you. Take the next steps with us and with the people who are closest to you.

Get all of your answers and go from there.

Cry all you want. Cry till there are no more tears. No one deserves those tears as much as you.

You have fought this far..keep fighting..it's worth it.

I'm in your corner cheering you all the way. Go Deb! Go Deb! Go Deb!!

My arms are here to comfort you.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

I think you are being really hard on yourself, Deb. You should be angry, feel cheated, snap at those you love, etc. No one expects you to be a hero.

I am sending you all the strength I have right now. I just wish it could heal you.

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

You are human and one of the strongest I have gotten to know via these boards.

You are allowed to yell and scream and snap. Those who love you most understand that best.

I am sorry you have had to go through all of this - if it was me, I don't know if I could be as strong as you.

I pray that you get guidance to make the decision that is best for you Chat Icon

Re: Having a bit of a hard time

Why is it that this most beautiful, strong, and courageous woman be dealt with the shittiest of hands?

Deb, I don't even know you and I want to stand in the streets and scream for you. I have my parents, friends, and family all praying for you, your DH, and mini muffin!!

Unfortunately I do not have much advise on your "options" but I do wish for you a long long healthy life with your husband and son!!
