Oh and they aren't facts. It's cherrypicked data. Show me a reliable source. You seem to have none.

I have a DD with autism. She was adopted and received no vaccinations prior to coming to the US. I knew from the second she was put into my arms at 10 months she was autistic. I firmly believe that it is genetic. The children are not sick, do not have a disease or a side effect to something that was done to them. That is how they were born. I truly believe that we need to spend less time on why they are autistic and more time on teaching acceptance and to create programs to help them navigate the world we live in.

As far as vaccinations, unless you have an allergy or a legitimate medical concern to not get a vaccination then I think everyone should vaccinate, even if you stagger them. If not, you are putting people at risk for diseases that are preventable.

As a parent of a child with a developmental disabity, I completely agree! I understand why some parents get stuck on blame though...it is so hard to accept when there is no obvious identifiable reason for it.

More people are dying from the vaccines than the diseases themselves. There have been zero reports of a person dying from the measles in 10 (possibly 12?) years. Guess how many people died from the vaccine? 83.

Source? Natural News doesn't count, by the way. And yes, I have received my boosters. The only vaccination I do not have is for chicken pox (never had it, and the vaccination is not popular in Germany).

A recent study I found interesting :

http://www.aerzteblatt.de/int/archive/article/80869

They couldn't test for autism because of sample sizes, but basically the study concluded that unvaccinated children are most at risk for diseases they are not vaccinated for.

Please show sources for your arguments.

Nvic.org.

This is not a reliable source. If it says .org, it doesn't mean it is reliable. I took one look at the article headlines and said "nope", then "nope" again. Have you educated yourself? It doesn't seem you have.

If you actually took the time to read through the FACTS with sources listed, then you would see it is indeed reliable. Unless you don't deem the WHO and CDC as reliable sources?

Reliable, how? Mercola is an ad on the side. It's all cherrypicked.

I don't give a flying **** what you think or do or say. If you can't take your head out of your ass to see beyond an ad and want to just nitpick shit because you're an asshole, then you've got your own problems.

I'm asking for reliable sources. I'm sorry that you can't provide that. Your argument to me is null and void. Have a nice day! I won't stoop to your level.

I can't stop laughing that you seem to 'not be able' to find the information. The credible sources are listed on each and every page if you go to the vaccines and diseases tab. But again, I guess you don't see the Merck product insert, th CDC, WHO and VAERS as reliable sources. Sorry, I don't have hours to waste linking sources for someone that can't see beyond their own nose.

I can read "beyond my own nose". What I see is an anti-vax site. They have cherry picked their own data (look up cherry pick; you seem to confuse it with nit pick). Give me real studies, papers, and research. You seem to have time to "educate" yourself, but you don't want to take some time (or you said wasting?) to find some sources.

I have a (possibly dumb) question about vaccinations

I'm astounded that you would resort to name calling and cursing. If you "don't give a flying ****" then you wouldn't feel the need to keep coming back here to post.... And post such trashy comments. Clearly you need validation for your beliefs and that's why you keep posting.

I'm joining you guys on that spaceship. Me and my whole vaccinated family - whose titers are checked regularly, by the way, it's actually fairly common for them to be checked with some regularity as an adult, especially if you, say, get pregnant, go to school, work in healthcare, etc. I say thank you vaccines - no more smallpox, no more polio...

The truth is no one on either side of the aisle is going to convince or turn anyone on the other side. Honestly, I think this thread has gotten way out of hand. Maybe it's time for it to be closed.

Really to call some one an a hole. Think it if you want but people have been banned for things like that. So not necessary.

If you want to get your point across that is not the right way.

Edited for spelling

Seriously.

The world is full of holier than thou "natural" people who know better than everyone else and want to degrade other women for doing things like vaccinating their kids or undergoing ivf.

Science is a beautiful thing that creates and saves lives.

Resorting to vile name calling is a desperate act, and it's typically done by those whose point of view is so unsustainable that it's the only option they have.

You have to go to be kidding me with this!

Its responses and comments like this from people who clearly have no idea what they are talking about that make me vaccinate my children.

Re: I have a (possibly dumb) question about vaccinations

Calling people names and cursing like a sailor is generally NOT the best way to get people to take your views seriously.
Back in the day, they used to ban people for stuff like that.
I wish they would continue with that tradition.
And this thread probably needs to be pulled.

I have a (possibly dumb) question about vaccinations

I have no problem with healthy debate - and when I offended someone, I apologized (it wasn't from cursing). I still believe what I believe, and it does scare me when people randomly chose to not vax their children (not when they don't for legitimate reaction/family history reasons). And when you begin cursing, it shows that you are no longer able to support your view/beliefs with fact. It completely undermines your argument. I am surprised that is the turn this thread took, but I guess I really shouldn't be. I am very disappointed.

Most of the board members and staff state that they have very personal experience with alleged vaccine reactions in their bios. How is this site not biased?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

This topic is ALWAYS a hot topic

The topic is important and it does provide useful information to both sides of the argument but man alive its vicious!

Once the name calling and ganging up starts, all hope is lost. There's no winner and there's no point anymore.

Can't we just argue about global warming instead?

The flu-vax I get, it's not the same (in my mind) as the others. DH and I both got it this year because I was preggo (and DS was born in the beginning of November), and I usually have to get it because I work in healthcare and am therefore at higher risk. But for people who are not at high risk for encountering it, so long as you practice proper hygiene and hand washing, PERSONALLY, I think you are OK.

You think I would learn from last year when both DH and I were sick like a dog. I make sure DS gets his!
