Tonight's list is out. I had a rough day and combined with this crappy weather, makes me just want to hang my head and cry for the cats that will be killed tomorrow, most of whom were someone's pets. Through no fault of their own, they wound up at a kill shelter and will die tomorrow.

I was having a real hard time picking just one cat tonight. The lame excuses that people give for abandoning their pets really ticks me off, but poor Cece's owners' excuse was "NO TIME." No time for a cat? Really? So because you're too lazy to fill a food and water dish, scoop some litter and give a few chin rubs, you're going to kill your cat after a year and half???? Sorry...told you I was in a bad mood. I truly hope this beautiful sweet cat is saved tonight because come 6am those at the shelter with have NO trouble finding TIME to stick her with a needle....

DOMINO'S FEATURED FAMILY: Tambra, Tammy, Taffy, Tamia, Tonetee, Tessa, and Travis (RIP Tambra and her kitties...hope you all find peace over the rainbow bridge)
So what happens when a nursing mama cat finds her way into the shelter with her kittens and tests positive for TREATABLE ringworm? Why slaughter the WHOLE FAMILY of course Tambra's kittens are ONE DAY OLD. I cant...I just cant...















Second Chance for CECE: Apparently even the shelter didnt have any time for Cece either because she is alive but back on the list for two days in a row. Perhaps tonight is her lucky night and someone will step up and MAKE TIME for her this TIME. i'm going to leave her up here with tambra's family, in hopes that they all get saved.

Tonight is Halloween and just like last night, there are several FAMILIES scheduled to be put down tomorrow. It makes me so sad to see all these frightened, scared kitties, who should be sitting on a lap somewhere safe and warm. It would appear that stunning G is laying there saying "this side is my best side...ok...now you can take the picture." This gorgeous male kitty has a beginner behavior rating meaning he is perfect! Unfortunately, his owner was evicted and so was he. Poor G doesnt know what awaits him in the morning if no one steps up to help him. He looks so hopeful...dont let him be wrong

I want to throw up, cry, beat my head against a wall...I just cant look at that little face...although there were 3 people who filled out applications for G, he was killed, as scheduled. RIP little one...sorry we werent fast enough and then if that wasnt bad enough I see that Peper, was killed too. And icing on the cake, the nursing mom and her five week old kitties were put down too. I really dont know how the shelter justifies killing all these adoptable cats, just because of the cold that they catch at the shelter. I really had high hopes for these two and I will squeeze my furbabies extra tight tonight.

After 5-6 years, Boots' family became allergic to her. Instead of finding her a home, they dumped her at a high kill shelter. They even say, "She is a really good cat that never gave me any problems or issues. She would be great company for anyone who loves pets." And yet they brought her here and signed her death papers.

On the heels of the slaughtered kitty family, and Peper and then G, tonight's list contains a "whole" family of kittens...Uno...Tres...Quatro...and Cinco...there are here because someone who agreed to foster them and get them off of deathrow on October 28, 2011, decided to GIVE THEM BACK. You will also notice that I skipped number 2...that's because they killed Dos this morning Why would you agree to save them only to dump them back? Also, Jay, one of my past featured cats is back on the list again. I had hoped that he was safe but I guess not.

Some will ask why I posted such an "ugly" cat. Some will think he should just be put out of his misery. For me, I wish Buster could talk. At one point he was someone's pet (he underwent an inhumane practice of declawing). Then what happened? Did his selfish owners grow tired of him? Did a new baby come along? Did they decide to move and not take him with them? At 15 years, he has had to fend for himself while being BLIND and being DECLAWED. Wont someone give him a warm bed and some love for his final years?

Another night and another list. Looks like the ACC is going to be very busy tomorrow morning. There are FORTY-SEVEN cats scheduled to die. There is a pregnant mom, there is a nursing mom with four of her 2 week old kitties...lots of pretty cats...some injured cats....wont you take the time to look through and see if one touches you enough to pass them along? Maybe foster? Maybe even adopt????

I admit it. Because of my own two cats, I have a soft spot for black and white kitties. Yuri is no exception. I think it is his eyes...that sad, "Less than 2 weeks ago I was safe in someone's house and now I'm going to die tomorrow look." Animals are intelligent...I think they know. Please prove Yuri wrong. He is a love bug who has a beginner rating and according to the notes, "allows petting and handling and reaches out soliciting for affection." DOMINO'S FEATURED CAT: Boy
After owning this cat for 10 years, his owner dumped him off to be killed because he wife is allergic. If my husband told me I needed to kill my cats because he was allergic (BTW he IS and takes a pill when they get bad) he'd need to find a new place to live. Boy is a stunningly gorgeous white cat who is not only confused as to why he is in a cage after being loved for his whole life, but he is likely wondering where his housemate is. MUSHU was on the list last night and as of right now his status is "unknown" which usually in ACC speak is "dead." Dont let Boy die tomorrow like his "brother." Please step up and save him.

I am SO glad that Cookie and Buster are safe! Especially that someone found it in their heart to care for Buster even though he was older and "less then perfect." He needed a good home to keep him well! That makes me happy for them!

Tonight's list is out for tomorrow's death row kitties. Thought I'd update you on Buster. He was like I previously mentioned, saved and sent to a vet. He is going to require 24 hour vet care to hopefully get him back on his feet. The medical care unit has set up a donation page to chip in for the cost of his vet stay. Well, even though tomorrow is a holiday for many, Veteran's day is clearly not celebrated at the ACC. The killing will begin tomorrow again at 6am. I have seriously heard it all now. Want to know why 7 month old King's owner thought he should die tomorrow? Fleas. Yeah...I said it...FLEAS. Instead of getting his kitty a dose of frontline, he decided to drop him off at the KILL SHELTER. Some people should be banned from pet ownership. It should also be noted that there is no indication that this cat even HAD fleas, however, he now has the shelter cold which is their justification for killing him tomorrow. Is there any "real" pet owner that will step up and save King?

Tomorrow there is a memorial service in memory of Oreo and in support of Oreo's Law. Here is the facebook link for the event.
Oreo's Law If you google Oreo's Law you can read more about it. However in a nutshell, Oreo was a pitbull who was purposefully and cruelly thrown off a building rooftop. Miraculously (she was dubbed the miracle dog) she survived and the ASPCA nursed her back to health. However, in November 2009 they decided that she had an aggression problem and even though there were multiple rescue organizations willing to take Oreo, they chose instead to put her down. This law will require shelters to turn over animals to legitimate rescue organization who request it.
