First off, congrats to all those with recent BFPs! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months!

A couple questions that might help those of us who are still TTC!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to do this!Chat Icon

1. OPK's/Deanna's Plan

2.Every other day once AF was completely gone, and the following 2 days after my + OPK

3. 9dpo-strong BFP line

ya know what - one thing i DIDN'T remember to add -

Dave was taking a men's one a day vitamin and this past month - he started taking Folic Acid supplements.

For older men (dave's 5 years older than me) - it is good for them to have extra Folic Acid to reduce birth defects in their semen....i have read that recently...

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

Considering my cycles were very irregular since going off BCPs in March...39, 47,52 & 33 days.. So after my last period in August, I began testing w/ OPKs on CD 10. I used the new First Response 20 day test kit, but I also used Ovulation test strips I bought from Amazon.com. I figured 2 tests couldn't be wrong, or I couldn't mess it up that way... We got a positive on CD 27 & 28.... But we had been BD'd often too! Chat Icon

2. What was your BD schedule?

We BD'd as often as possible once September hit. just in case. But reall every other day, or every 3 days. I originally thought I was going to O on CD20, but that didn't happen so we kept BDing. We BD'd on CD26, got a positive CD27 &28 (also BD'd both those days) and BD'd CD29 the day after my positves, just in case! Chat Icon Oh.. We also used Pre... That was fun!!!

3. At how many dpo did you test?

I originally didn't want to test until my Birthday 10/3. But I was too impatient. I test on CD40 aka 12DPO (sept 28). There was a VERY faint line... Then I tested the next day.. another faint line.. Then October 1.. I got 2 really dark lines and a "Pregnant" on a Clear Blue Easy digital... I would also add that the week before I got my BFP, my Boobs were sooo sore. I could not touch them! And I was also very crampy even in the beginning from 6DPO.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

I have been taking Prenate DHA prenatals since going off BCPs, and by total accident I did gave Barilla Plus pasta 1DPOChat Icon

I hope This Helps!!! I'm also attaching pics of the Ovulation test strips. You can see the line on the left a little darker, and my First BFP!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for all of your help and support. I'm not leaving this board yet though until my DRs appt.. so your stuck with me a little longer...Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I can't believe it's my turn! First I want to thank all of you Chat Icon You all have been a rock of support and have given me so much information and advice...I am forever grafteful! So here we go.....

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
When Joe had his vasectomy reversal we took a wait and see method until May when we were told it worked so well it was like he never had a vasectomy. I then bought CBEFM and started doing that. I also used mymonthlycycles, and how I was feeling.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
We tried to bd the whole week before and after my O, but with our sched it was a whenever avail method. The night we did concive we were not trying. We had been drinking and playing Scrabble and Cribage. It was a very relaxing night that had nothing to do with my o time frame.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
I tested the day AF should have came, and it was a BFN....I left for Vegas and joe picked me up from the airport a nd made me POAS at the airport...again BFN's....I had blood done when I was a week late and it was also negative. When I was 16days late(this past Saturday) I decided to POAS just because and it was a BFP! I did it again and another BFP...We bought digitals and it said pregnant. I did it again Sunday and today and of course it was also +.......So I didn't get my BFP's until I was 16 days late.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I just had fun and tried to relax. I have been on prenatals, folic acid, calcium citrate, Vit D, Omega 3, and my prescription meds for almost 2yrs now. We did nothing different or by the book this time. TBH i'm suprised it worked, but very happy.......I am happy it was a suprise when I saw the lines

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

First of all, I can't believe I get to post on this thread! This is so exciting for me!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

This was our 6th month TTC. At first we didn’t do anything for two months. Then I got the CBEFM and a BBT thermometer and began temping. I charted on my own for a while and then I signed up for the VIP membership on Fertility Friend. That was a great asset because I could ask questions on there, search charts, check friend’s charts and etc… I found the CBEFM and temping to be very helpful. There was only one other month that I actually took a pregnancy test because with the temping I usually knew when AF was coming. It was helpful to learn about my LP as well.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Over the past 6 months, we have tried a few different methods. We have tried Deana’s Plan for a month or two. But this month, I got 2 high readings on CBEFM and then the third day of the high reading we BD. Then we BD the next two days which happened to be peak readings on CBEFM so we BD 2 days before, 1 day before and the day of O.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested 10 DPO in the afternoon and got a faint line! I used a Dollar Tree test first, then a FRER and then a digital which all confirmed that I was pregnant. I only tested 10 DPO because my LP is on the short side so I should have gotten AF on that day. Fertility Friend suggested that I test the next morning (which of course I couldn’t wait for). I felt different and had a feeling I was pregnant but didn’t want to overanalyze my symptoms.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I was taking prenatals for the entire 6 months of TTC. I also have lost 25 pounds during the TTC process which I am sure has helped somewhat. I have also been watching what I eat and working out with a personal trainer. As far as anything else, we did you pre-seed one night of BDing out of those three so I don’t know if it worked but we used it. Also, I always eat Barilla Plus pasta because of the higher protein content but that was because of what I was eating.

I hope that helps everyone! Good luck to all and I absolutely love this board! Everyone is amazing!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I'm so excited!!!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

This was our 4th month TTC. The first two we didn't use any methods, but the past two months I used OPKs and knew pretty much exactly my O date.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

The month I got my BFP we BD -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 (O being ovulation day)

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested with FMU on 11 DPO and got a faint line on a dollar tree test! I was due the following day on DPO 12.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

DH and I both started taking folic acid supplements this month and we also BD the entire week surrounding O. We used Preseed a few times this month, but not every time. I didnt' stay in bed with legs up or anything.

As for symptoms, I felt like I was going to get my period, but with pains in my lower left abdomen. I am still getting those pains now. Exhaustion, but that was tough to measure cause i am always tired! My breasts were not sore or heavy at all, which was why I thought I was not PG.

I think I'm the first November one!!!

Honestly, i have to say, I really can't answer any of the questions on the thread. I recently had ovarian surgery (in May) and my periods have always been irregular. only after the surgery, did they start regulating. they were still on the long side of about 41-43 days, but this seemed to be the pattern from june- September, so regular for me!

i did not temp or use OPK's. i had no idea when or if i was ovulating....my gyn. thought i was not ovulating from both sides due to the long cycles and due to the fact that are good portion of one ovary was removed. i was just "winging" it. in fact, i was getting so despondent, that i promised myself for November, I would be more dilignat and start temping or using OPK's even though the doctor said i might not ever see a surge or a smiley.

I have been taken pre-natals, but other than that, i guess I was just lucky. One of maybeamommy's response to one of my threads awhile back, clued me in as to when i might be ovulating... (post CD 20 and if I did the math right, I O'd around CD 30, and we happened to have BDed then.)

Wish I could have been more helpful, but due to my history and surgery, i didnt' think it all the usual approaches would work, so i didn't try them. i guess it just worked itself out.

I still have to go to the doctor to truly confim....

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

Wow! I can't believe I get to respond to this thread!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I temped, charted my CM every day and used OPKs around O time. I started all of that 3 months before we were TTC so I got to know my body very well!

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We tried a bunch of different things, usually depending on our schedule for the week of O. We usually tried to do day before O, day of and day after. That didn't always work out though! Sometimes it was 2 days before O and day of, that's it. Since we tried for 5 months, it wasn't ever the same schedule month to month.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I am a POAS addict so I tested 8, 9, 10 and 11 DPO. I got bfn on 8 DPO. I got what I thought MIGHT be a line on 9 DPO, but it could have been a shadow. I tested again at 10 DPO and it was a light line. I was thinking...maybe? I tested again on 11 DPO and it was the same shade. I had a digital HPT and thought, what the hell? I tested and it was Positive!!
Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I used Mucinex when I thought my CM was too thin, took B6 to lengthen my luteal phase (didn't really work by the way), used pre-seed and took prenatals starting three months prior to TTC. We went all out!

I have to say though, this month I never got a smiley on the OPK. So we totally guessed when to BD. We also went the route of BDing every other day since we were afraid of doing too many days in a row and then missing a late O. I think maybe the every other day thing worked for us. I had my temps to confirm O after the fact, but at that time we just BD and hoped for the best! I also lost my thermometer for 4 days and so I was a little "off" with temping. It just figures that the month we were overall a little "off" is the month we got our bfp!!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1/2 This time around I didnt use any method, it was an extremely busy month and I really didnt think it was going to be our month this month. We bd ONE time during the ovulation time period. I felt myself ovulating and grabbed dh and we bd!! I laid there for an hour and fell asleep on my back. Maybe it helped because I was relaxed and sleeping!

3.. I get my period like clockwork every 29 to 30 days. I tested at 7 days late...I am so proud of myself. I just had that intuitive feeling I was pg though. 2 days after I ovulated I started to get acne and crampy...thats wayyyyyy to early for me...plus I never get acne.

4. Wow...this month I did try something different. I drank 2 cups of green tea a day up until the day after ovulation. I carried the green tea packets in my bag every where I went, so it was easy to remember to drink it and easily accessible. I had a coupon and shoprite had barrilla plus on sale so I bough one box of it. I had a huge bowl of it sometime around ovulation, and the other half of the box after ovulation. It was by total coincidence though... I changed my diet for the last 2 months, I switched to a liquid vitamin B plus pill with folic acid..I thought maybe an oily liquid in my body may help. I tried to have the least amount of carbs as possible...and the only caffiene I had all month was the green tea...and maybe a quarter can of pepei mixed witha quarter can of seltzer with certain sandwiches. I was also so busy so I didnt have time to think about the 2ww.

Good luck ladies and thank you for your support and prayers.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

SO excited to be posting on this thread and hoping some of this can help you ladies...I owe everything to this board. I learned so much and got so much support....

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I have been charting on mymonthlycycles for about 9 months, just to get an idea of what my cycles looked like. That was really helpful because it showed me that I am REALLY regular...29 day cycles like clockwork!
I also used OPKs for the past 3 cycles to pinpoint O.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We tried to BD every other day starting on CD9 or 10. Then once I got the positive on the OPK we BD'd that day and the next 2.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I wasn't going to test this month and just wait for AF to show. That's what I usually did and it was as good as testing bc as I said, I am very regular so I pretty much know when AF is coming. But for some reason this month, I decided to test on 11DPO...I was having a ton of cramps and sore BBS since O so I figured let's just see what happens...BFN on 11DPO with a CVS digital in the evening. so I figured AF was coming and that was that. I posted about my BFN and a bunch of ladies said, it was too early, digitals are less sensitive and I should use FMU.. So I bought Clear Blue First Reponse on 14DPO and got my BFP! ( at night) another BFP with FMU on 15DPO...(and a few more but I won't tell you how many bc I am embarrassed at the amount of money I spent on HPTs!)

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I did use Robitussin this month prior to O. I also have been consistently taking a multivitamin and a folic acid supplement for about 6 months.
Also wanted to say that I decided to cut out all caffeine last month...I don't know if that helped, but I think it was good preparation for now that I am pregnant.

Good luck to everyone on TCC...

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

Thought I would bump this for the recent BFP's
------------------------------------------------------
1. What method did you use to TTC? Cheapo internet OPK's and the CBDOPK

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Started every other day on CD9 - got our
Smiley on CD17, then we BD'd CD17, CD18, CD19 and CD21.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

1odpo - faint line on the cheapo internet test
11dpo - faint line again on this test
12dpo - POSTIVE on the clear blue digital

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I have been taking pre-natals for 5 months or more now. The only major difference we made this month was LOTS of BD'ng. We did the deed 9 times in 13 days which was a marathon for us. We "convinced" ourselves that this was our month. I told DH that even if he passed away this month I was going to retrieve his sperm as this was the month. My mom had me - her second in July and now I am due to have my second in July and I just feel it was meant to be! So I don't know if you would call that positive thinking or denial!!

----------------------------------------------------

I am praying and hoping for BFP's all over this board before the year end.

Thank you all for your amazing support and well wishes.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

I used opk's this month, however they told me what i already knew...that i would o on day 14 (surge was on day 12). Didn't really "help" but confirmed what I thought.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

I think it was CD 11, CD 12, CD 13, CD 14 and CD 17

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

11dpo with a FRER, BFN. Not even a hint of color. Tested again on cd13-I used the target version of EPT and got a faint plus sign, so ran out and bought 2 answer tests..both very clear BFP's!!!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Been on prenatals for a few months, that's all.

Thought i'd list symptoms although it's not asked here...I had slight cramping from about cd 16 until I got my bfp. Never turned into really strong period cramps though. Also, a lot of dull lower backaches and fatigue.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?

I used OPKs.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Once we got the + on the OPK, we BD'd that day, the next, and one more time on the 3rd day. That was it!

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

11dpo with a FRER and got my BFP! Then tested again the following morning (12dpo) with a digital to confirm.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Not that I can think of.

In case anyone is wondering, here were my symptoms. AT around 5dpo my nipples became VERY sore. That lasted about 3 or 4 days and then subsided. I had implantation spotting from 6dpo to 9 or 10dpo. Other than that, the only other symptom I had (the reason I tested as eary as I did) was a smell aversion to peanut butterChat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

I don't know how much I'll be helping- but I'll try!Chat Icon

1. What method did you use to TTC?

CBEFM, pre-conceive (another version of pre-seed), also noted EWCM...that clued me in before the CBEFM even told me I was at my peak! I actually O'd very late that month.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

Once I noticed the EWCM (the next day my peak reading finally showed, didn't even get a high that month), we got to work and BD'd for four days straight. Chat Icon

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I was going to wait until 13dpo, but I noticed some brown spotting around 10-11dpo, which was very unusual for me. It looked like the spotting I have at the end of AF. So it gave me hope that it was implantation spotting....and I gave in and tested at night on 12dpo with a dollar tree test- and a faint line appeared! Chat Icon

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Not sure, but pre-conceive may help...I took Target prenatals...ate VERY healthy (even for me, healthy - lots of veggies!) and worked out. But I think I just come from a very fertile family- I wish we ALL did!!!

I honestly did not have any really tell-tale symptoms. I think I might have felt sharp pains in my breasts once or twice, but sometimes I get that pre-AF. Honestly, the spotting kind of clued me in but I hear that's not so common for most people to see implantation spotting.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

Don't know how much help i'll be because we went to an RE (we got our BFP on our 14th month of ttc)

1. What method did you use to TTC?
I wasn't O'g (no male factor), so i took Clomid 50mg CD5-9 and triggered with Ovidrel (a form of HCG) CD16.

2. What was your BD schedule?
We BD'd CD16 before knowing that i was going to trigger that night (we were just in the mood, it wasn't for BD purposes). Had IUI's CD17 & CD18.

3. At how many dpo did you test?
Got my BFP at 13dpiui. I didn't test before then.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?
ETA: I forgot to add that i also had an HSG this month on CD9. There's a theory that it may help with getting PG because it "clears out the cobwebs." Since i start meds the same cycle, i can't tell which did it, but they all worked together.

Hope this is able to help in some way.

We just BD the day of o and the day after. I had been paying attention to my body for the past year and I know that everytime I would O, i get horible horrible cramps, almost like AF cramps, and they would be down my legs as well. It was my sign and this was our first month TTC so I just thought lets wait for those cramps and just BD and see what happensChat Icon I guess I was indeed right all along. I think that helped a lot. I had a hard time going by CM and forget about CP!!!Chat Icon

2. 2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
I think I answered this on Question #1.

3. 3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
I tested first with a cheap internet test 9 DPO and I got what I swore was a faint line, even though DH didnt see it and it popped up after the 10 minute window. So I retested the next morning with the same brand and the line came up again VERY faint and after about 5 minutes.....still didnt believe and that night I used a digital and it said pregnant!!

4. . Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
I think the fact that I had very clear ovulation signs helped me a lot bc in fact I ovulated a day or later than i normally do the month i got my BFP. So if it dint know that, I would have BD'ed too early.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?
-Just looked online to see what the best days would be according to cycle

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
-There is a website that lists the bunnies. We did it the 5 days of the bunny(except we went on vacation on two of the best days, so we could only do it the morning of the first day)

3. At how many dpo did you test?
-2 days before AF - negative
1 day before AF- positive-weak
day of AF- strong positive-digital confirmed

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
-nope
