Don't scare me, I started out as a D and am forcing myself into a DD while its still comfortable, which I'm pushing... My mom of course who always knows how to console me told me to stop complaing and wait until I BF...which made me oh so happy....
You are not alone..I also started out as a D cup and now wear DD...at size 4-6 all you can see is my boobs and no real belly yet....I can only imagine when we have milk!

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
Hi ladies! I'm happy to be starting the second trimester although I still worry. I just want to feel something, but I know that's still probably a few weeks away.
I bought a bunch of maternity clothes last weekend. For some reason, I haven't worn any yet. I'll probably start wearing the pants soon b/c they're really comfortable, especially the secret fit ones.
I'm getting waves of nausea again and I've been really exhausted. I'm still waiting for my burst of energy. I've been sleeping a little better the past few nights although I usually wake up at least once to pee. I have heartburn every day, but it has been more tolerable the last few days. I also have more cramping/stretching/pain than I had a few weeks ago. I have sciataca pain a few times per day too.
I have my full anatomy scan on July 8th. I won't have a Level II as long as everything is ok with the scan. We're not finding out the sex. Is anyone else keeping it a surprise until the end?

Hi Ladies,
Glad to hear everyone is doing so good!!!
Update on my pregnancy (sorry long)
It has been a crazy 4 weeks...a wild roller coaster ride....it all began with my ultrascreen rsults....the sono itself was great and baby measured perfect but my bloods came back as high risk for Down's....we were shocked and devasted....I didn't know what to think..we were told to do an amnio....after a long talk with DH we decided to do it..it was not an easy decision but I needed the piece of mind....I had my amnio done last Wednsday (at 15w3d) at North Shore Hospital....it wasn't bad at all...the amnio lasted for like a minute...before that we got a Level II scan of the baby (they looked for Downs markers - there weren't any) which made me feel better...the baby is also measuring about 5 days ahead which was also a good sign.....after that I went home and rested for the rest of the week...I had no side effects (no spotting, no cramping) and felt great....mentally I was a wreck...I lost 5lbs since my ultrascreen from being nervous....
we got the fast results (FISH test) on Monday and they are NORMAL!!!!!! baby is totally normal and healthy!!!!! I have been on cloud 9 ever since!!!! let me tell you, what a relief.....we will get the full result on Friday....when they called me on Monday they asked if we wanted to find out the sex (they know from the amnio), I said no because we didn't want to find out....now we do and I can't wait for Friday to find out!!!!
It was a false positive for us which I am happy about...they said becasue I carried twins and lost one, there might be some cells left in my uterus that still produce the high HCG that I have and that is why the false alarm....either way I feel totally blessed...
Profile of the baby from the amnio sono (DH's big nose..lol)
Anita-I am so sorry that happened to you. This is why we chose not to do this test. I am SO glad everything worked out. And your baby is gorgeous!

Does your Level II happen at the doctors office?
Mine doe but I am not in NY-depends on teh Dr's equipment. I go to a clinic that is affiliated with a teaching hopsital so they have great sono equipment

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
I started wearing some maternity tops this week, and man...they make me REALLY look pregnant!!
My only complaint is this sciatica. It got really bad again last night--I'm supposed to be at an all-week Smartboard training for school, and I had to bow out today--I couldn't sit up in a chair for more than 30 seconds. Right now I'm laying on the floor of the livingroom (on my stomach ) because it's the only comfortable position.
I can handle the nausea and the vomiting...but this is really getting to me.
I go for the anatomy scan on 7/7, and then the Level II around July 18th!!! Can't wait to find out if is a or a !!

I love wearing maternity clothes...I am so glad to be done with rubber banding my jeans shut! I'm off buttons and zippers and loving life!!!! I am hoping to stop with the m/s soon...it's really tapering off at least. How far along do you have to be for the level II?

I just got back the bloodwork from the ultrascreen and they came back as a positive risk for downs (1:66 as opposed to 1:200 for my age group). Needless to say I feel the same was as you. I'm going to make an apt. for an amnio.
My questions...did you need to stay on bedrest for a week?
I had 2 embryos inserted I did IVF and only one took...I wonder... would that create a false positive?
By the way, I'm glad that everything came back normal. I'm sure it was a huge relief. Love the sono!

I am sorry this is happening to you too! It totally sucks but I know that 99% your baby is fine!!! so take a deep breath and wait for the amnio.....
I rested 5 days after it (had it on Wednsday)....but it was not a complete bedrest....just taking it easy...you will be fine....
There are studies (I will look for them again) that show IVF patients having more false positives then the rest of people....the studies show that IVF patients produce higher HCG (and free-beta HCG) and lower alpha-protein levels therefore the tests come back positive where in fact the babies are totally healthy....you will be fine!! I will for you!!!! keep us posted!
Melissa - Thank you! it was the worst time of my life....I don't blame you for not taking the test especially that you are carrying twins!!! When I have my next kid I will skip this stupid test!!

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
Just wanted to bump this up to get an update.
here's mine.
We found out Baby B is a boy. Baby A was lounging on its belly and then turned but crossed its legs so we couldn't get the money shot.
I have a cervical length check on the 17th and may be able to find Baby A's gender then. If not my level 2 is July 31st. We are going to FL from the 19th to the 26th with SIL and her family so that will be nice. I feel pretty good. I ahve been getting some headaches and my stomach is already filled with stretch marks but besides for that all is good
Baby A's HB is consistently 150-155 while Baby B is 135-148 or so.

Awwwww....Congrats Melissa on your !!!
I am feeling pretty good....I do get my moments of feeling...eh. Like, heartburn or a headache. But, I am so much better than the first-trimester...so I will not complain.
I don't go back to the doctors until July 23. It feels so far away. I am very anxious to go back and see how everything is....hopefully great!!!
How much weight did everyone gain, and how many weeks are you?
I'm 17 weeks and gained 8 lbs.

Melijane: Congrats on Come on Baby A and show yourself
I too found out that I'm having a We found out last week.
I have a about the doctor measuring your cervix. Do they do it through the ultrasound or do they actually measure you inside? I ask because my doctor is suppose to watch my cervix length but I don't feel that she is. My last ultrasound they said the placenta looked good and was in place. Is that how they measure the cervix? I was so confused. And now my doctor said they'll look at it again when I'm 24wks. I thought they were going to monitor me more carefully. I had a LEEP so that's why I'm concerned about my cervix length.
I am 18wks today and I've gain 9.25lbs. I'm not too happy about that but I'm sure it has something to do with all the carbs I've been eating

I believe it is an internal sono like we had in the beginning. Definitely stay on your Dr if you think they are not aggressive enough. All my Drs think I am a huge PITA but I am watching out for my babies.
Thanks everyone-I'll keep you updated on the gender of my mystery baby-s/he likes to counge on it's belly which may be why I always have shooting pains in my groin!

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
Hi everyone! I guess I'm almost 16 weeks although I had another sono today and the baby was measuring a week ahead again. They're still keeping my Christmas due date though. The tech knows the sex, but we're team . It's kind of exciting that someone knows though.
I was thrilled to learn that I was only up 1 lb from the last appointment. Based on my scale at home, I thought I had gained at least 3 lbs. My total weight gain is 6 lbs.
I'm definitely feeling flutters now. has been pretty active the past 2 days. I thought I first felt them several days ago, but wasn't sure. Now, I'm sure I'm feeling the baby.
The rash on my face is back , but hopefully it will get better soon. My heartburn hasn't been as bad. I'm feeling a lot better than I was in the first trimester.
Tina - my doctor has measured my cervix at least twice (today and when I had my bleeding scare several weeks ago). Both times, the measurements were done by sonogram. I hope everything is ok with you.

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
My OB doesn't like to venture a guess at the sex before 20 weeks--which means I still have 3 1/2 weeks to go before we find out what we're having!
It's driving me crazy--I want to know already!!!

Hey ladies. I also had questions about this today. Melijane, can I ask why are they monitoring your cervix? Do you have cervival issues or is it because you are pg with twins?
ETA - I am 16w5d and haven't gained not even one lb yet. But I am showing a lot.

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
Well i am 15 and a half weeks...and i am also getting a lot of headaches and the stuffy nose problem in the morning. P.S Doctor says that headaches are also from the heat and not drinking enough water...so drink up!!!
I don’t think my doctor has measured my cervix yet??? When did you guys start having that done?? Or could he have done it and not told me??
Also the next appt for the AFP is on 7/21...just a few days before 18 weeks so i that they see the sex of the baby...
Or just 2 and a half weeks later is the level II and i will have to wait till then!!!
And my last appt was on June 30th and i had gained 4 lbs since April 16th when i had the blood work to confirm BFP. So I guess I’m doing ok!

Can I ask why you had a sono today? I am confused, why are some of us getting sonos and some of us are not? My next one is not until 20 weeks, last one was ultrascreen at 11.3 weeks.
And I too wonder, when are they going to measure my cervix also?
I too felt a flutter last week. I haven't felt it since.

I just went for my AFP and I didn't have sono. So we won't know the sex until 20 week ultrascreen. Are you sure you will be getting a sono?

Re: Starting a December Mommy Thread!!!!
Some doctors do more sonos than others...i have had a lot... 6W, 8W, 12W, plus the ultrascreen... and he did another on when i got the results from the ultrascreen on the 30th because i asked if i could quickly see baby and he did it. Plus i'll have another for the AFP at 17W
