that would never happen... we have a congress and a Senate you know...

but why would I want to elect someone who wouldnt have a problem with socialism? I will not vote for a man with the hopes that Congress or the Senate will protect us and stop him from making bad choices

I'm interested as to WHY you feel Obama is a socialist... aside from perhaps hearing it as a sound bite on some radio or tv program...

enlighten me.

how many times do you have to hear him say spread the wealth before it sinks in?

I was asking deedlebug...

for starters, tax the rich and give $ to the poor. This is the core of Socialism...

he has also been linked to the democratic socialists of america
his whole ideology of wealth, welfare, healthcare, etc all have socialist undertones

Socialist UNDERtones...

well, socialist views; i said undertones since he doesnt just come out and admit that he is a socialist!

Though i am used to you picking apart everything i say I am not sure why you put UNDER in caps????

Socialist UNDERtones...

this thread was started to learn about mccain. if you want to bash him and protect and praise obama instead, there are plenty of other threads that are doing just that

This thread was to see if McCain supporters could say positive things about him rather than just bash Obama.

I thought this thread was about what some of us like about McCain, not a slamming of Obama??? It's been done before....

Even the Cookie Monster dislikes Obama, he is yelling at him because Obama wants to take all his cookies and give them to the people who dont have cookies, even though Cookie Monster worked hard for those cookies.

Cookie Monster no like Socialist. "He want my cookies"

and i commented on that and now Keith Hernandez is emphasizing my use of "undertones"
not really sure why - i mean, i am versed in the english language
I know what I wrote and i know what i meant
YES, undertones - He doesnt come out and say "hey america, I AM A SOCIALIST!"

You have to be intelligent enough to read between the lines, listen to what he says, know what socialism is and that it is a stepping stone to communism

Re: An open question to McCain supporters....

This thread is just inforcing my beliefs that McCain supporters have a hard time talking positive about McCain and will eventually end up making it all about Obama.....

exactly--spread the wealth is not a capitalist ideal.

when explaining why you like 1 candidate over another, you need to compare and contrast, so of course some of us will say what we dont like about the other candidate to give other examples of what we like about the candidate we will be voting for.

i am so tired of people jumping the moment someone says something that they dont like about obama, but that it's ok to say as much negative stuff about mccain as you want? how is that right?

grow a thicker skin people, c'mon.

Yeah seriously, sorry if you have to compare a little to prove a point. A lot of us are Democrats who for the first time in our voting lives have to change parties and we need to use that comparison to explain why.

I don't think this is true, it's just that a couple of people got off on a tangent due to some snippy comments.

In addition to what I posted above, I like the fact that McCain has a long history and record after all of his years of being a politician. While I may not agree with every vote he made, I feel like I can judge him better and just feel more trust there.

yes!!!
I have said that several times -
I've been voting for 17 years and this is the first time Im voting for a republican. Im older and have worked too hard for my money, as has DH, to "spread it around"
I work with the less fortunate everyday and you know what - some of them; MOST of them are MORE than capable of getting a JOB!!
Or as Biden said the other day, "Its a 3 letter word people J-O-B-S!"
LOL

the media is in the bag for obama. it's beyond ridiculous. if that had been sarah palin, the media would have been all over it.
