So I read the 27 year old co pilot got in trouble in 2011 with another pilot for allowing two blonde Australian women to fly the plane. This ENRAGES me! How was his license not revoked forever?!
What if my doctor allowed two blonde Australians to perform surgery on me? Or my dentist allowing them to remove my wisdom teeth? WTF?!
They were not flying the plane and from the photos most feel the plane was already parked. Australian media has taken a beating over the interview with the woman. It's not unusual on foreign carriers to meet the pilot and take photos while no longer in flight. If she really found it an issue she should not have done it or reported it to the infligt department. NOT gone on tabloid television and completely disrespect this mans wife and children during such a terrible time

Wasn't it the younger pilot? I don't think he's married or has kids.

Yes. It was the younger pilot.
And according to the girl they were in the cockpit during a flight. Although the airline can not confirm it at this time.

I have a feeling we will be seeing this plane again.
Me too. I think it's sitting in a hanger somewhere.
Where do you think the passengers are? Did they kill them all?
I think so. If they were holding them hostage I think the hijackers would've made some sort of demand by now.
The plane quickly rose to an altitude of 45,000. From what I read, the passengers would not survive that.
So would that mean the pilots died too, no?
I THINK that there are special masks/equipment for situations like that with an abrupt change in pressure.

They are saying it was deliberate The disappearance. Also they were flying for about 6hours in a north western route. Watching cnn right now. The transponder was turned off by someone on the plane
I'm sure this has been asked but WHY is there even an option to turn OFF the transponder? Why is that an option? It should just be on all the time!!

I asked this same question a few pages ago . Boggles my mind that it is an option.

missing malaysia airplane....
In the footage over the weekend, it was stated that they commonly turn off the transponder after landing while taxi-ing on the runway so as to not interfere with the signals of other planes landing and taking off.

Now CNN is saying the plane could have been flying so low as to evade radar over land. I really so think it is safely landed somewhere and I hope the passengers are just being held hostage and not something worse. :(

I truly hope the passengers are still alive and being fed so they can be kept alive. But sadly, my gut tells me that if the plane was stolen by terrorists to be used to cause damage and hurt more people, then they probably aren't concerned with the people on the plane

This article is heart wrenching, but it gives a glimpse into the lives of some of the passengers.

I read this earlier The line that kills me the most is: "The youngest is 2, the oldest 76. Five passengers haven't seen their fifth birthdays."
Sigh

missing malaysia airplane....
Not to sound crazy but my mom has plane crash dreams...She's been right about a lot of them especially high profile ones before they even happen.
Yesterday she told me she finally had one about this flight and wanted to tell people in case the info came out on the news this way we didn't think she was crazy. MY family always calls her before they go away lol.
She says she saw the exact plane in her dream, it was in a mountain area. She said it did not crash...she said it look to have been landed deliberately. She also said somewhere like Pakistan.

This theory is actually on many airline forums. However most believe the pax are not alive

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
I have to wonder of those (online) questioning the cargo and Freescale passengers had something to do with it, not necessarily hijacking the plane for ransom, but another country stealing the plane for the assets (cargo and/or specific passengers and their knowledge.)

I have plane and helicopter crash nightmares, but they're usually where I'm witnessing the crash, not in the actual plane and they're pretty gruesome. I haven't had any in quite a long time...at least a few years.
I woke up during the night from a nightmare the same night flight MH 370 went missing, only this time I was in the cabin and we were in a rapid decent. That's all I remember because the feeling of the decent is what woke me. It wasn't until the morning when my DH asked me if I heard about the flight. Needless to say I was spooked.

You are supposed to turn it off after you land. They don't want to have to track a plane that is already on the ground. Adds to the confusion for air traffic controllers.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
A commercial flight that crashed into the Indian Ocean in 1987 took 2 months to locate and they knew an approximate location before they were lost. While technology may have improved since then there is a much larger search area. If they are in the ocean they might never be found.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/18/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-flight.html?hp&_r=1
This just gets stranger and stranger...
WASHINGTON — The first turn to the west that diverted the missing Malaysia Airlines plane from its planned flight path from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing was carried out through a computer system that was most likely programmed by someone in the plane’s cockpit who was knowledgeable about airplane systems, according to senior American officials.
Instead of manually operating the plane’s controls, whoever altered Flight 370’s path typed seven or eight keystrokes into a computer on a knee-high pedestal between the captain and the first officer, according to officials. The Flight Management System, as the computer is known, directs the plane from point to point specified in the flight plan submitted before each flight. It is not clear whether the plane’s path was reprogrammed before or after it took off.
The fact that the turn away from Beijing was programmed into the computer has reinforced the belief of investigators — first voiced by Malaysian officials — that the plane was deliberately diverted and that foul play was involved. It has also increased their focus on the plane’s captain and first officer.
