My plan out of pocket was $1000 plus a $150 deductible - so $1150 for me.
Some of the charges were submitted under DD (nursey) so I paid a few hundred dollars for her.
So in total around $1500.

I had a bunch of different bills..
one for about $2k - that was my co-insurance for the delivery and hospital stay
another for $500-ish for DS's circumcision
and another for $80 for NYS fees and other random crap.

With my 1st DS I had to pay a $200 copay for the hospital.
This time I am under my DH and we have $300 copay

and I forget how much but we had to pay out of pocket for DS's circumcision, i think it was $200

3400 total. I had to pay 1,000 each for dd and I to the hospital. Owed 800 to obgyn, than we owed neonatal Dr, anesthesiaoligist, on call ped. I also paid for a private room for 3 nights which was 600. Writing this has made my stomach turn. I have aetna epo

About $1,500 - GHI vaginal birth like pp.
Our copay was $300 but, my anesthesiologist, the hospital ped and the circumcision were all out of network.

my advice to you. . .every time you get a bill, call up and fight it -- you don't even have to be confrontational, just ask them to check it for you. I was getting bills daily and only paid for the first two that I got!

it should have been ZERO...we have Empire NYSHIP...but because we were "late" in reporting that I had given birth, I got charged a penalty of $200...which I disputed...and LOST
That's bull!!!! I have empire NYSHIP also and I called on my way to the hospital because they were 6 weeks early and the lady told me she was doing me a "favor" waiving the penalty....because I was telling them short notice I was su!pposed to have the penalty...really? bull

Definitely - call both insurance and the dr providing the service - many times, if the bills are ridiculous and not covered by your insurance, the dr will reduce the amount you owe (this happened with my anesthesiologist bill).

The only thing I had to pay out of pocket with DS was my private room. And DS was even in NICU for 8 days.

$200 co-pay for me (for hospital admission) and $200 for NICU. My non-NICU twin was "free." LOL

$2400 to the hospital and $600 to my OB. We have a $3k deductible so that took care of it for the year!
I got my itemized bill and SHEEZE bring your own motrin, colase, and lanisoh!!!!

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that we owe about $3,000  That was for an induction, vaginal birth, & a 4 day stay. I'm pretty sure it was a little over $16,000 before insurance kicked in tho
