Re: "There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane"
The video of her leaving the Gas station is so troubling too : ( To know the kids were alive in that car....
She didn't look ****** in the video to me, she looked DRUNK. I hate to even have this knowledge but I have seen people drive drunk unfortunatly and that is whay tehy do, just pull out, forget there are other people in the world ( cars in the streets).
This story just kills me to the core.
How can EVERYONE feel that the Brother and mostly the husband are hiding something. Its there, that feeling.
That article...and if anyone read it the NY Mag article which shows how utterly in the dark he ( husband ) is.
He has brainwashed himself.
I do get what some said, that if this was off character to him , he might not stop at anything to 'clear' her like many of our DH's would. BUT...he appears to be lying about so much, or just convincing himself of it.
That poor little boy....I just cannot image what he has to go through.
When the brother ran off to go find Diane...WHY did he not call the husband? HE didnt know that the husband was home yet ( if they left together at the same time, he likely could infer that the husband was still driving, CLOSE to where Diane and his kids were!) but he didnt call him???? Something was said on that phone call for sure!!!

the husband went from saying...
she couldnt have been drinking and high she's not like that to....
she occasionally would have a drink and she'd ocassionally have pot to....
there was absynth in the trailer, I brougth the bags to the car, I didn't know it was packed in there.....
at least at the end the sister who was also in denial started mentioning how he has it easy working a different shift.

Re: "There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane"
I think it's easier to believe that maybe it was an accident, than to acknowledge that she may have planned it or intentionally driven drunk and high with all those kids in the car.
From the witnesses they interviewed...she was driving straight, she changed lanes to make it over to the fast lane. She was doing 70 mph, determined, no swerving, etc. I think she was on a suicide mission. She wanted to take both her kids out with her because she knew her husband was no the type to raise those kids properly without her. God only knows why she chose to do that with her nieces in the car. But I don't think any underlying medical condition made her drink and smoke pot then drive. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

Jay is Diane's SIL (Daniels brothers wife). It was weird she was in the documentary more than Daniel.

I just watched this myself and I feel the same way as you. I don't understand how she was driving so fast, no swerving and every witness said she looked like she was basically on a mission. Why not stop the car and just ask for help? Hundreds of people around you, you had a cell phone, kids were crying in the car from fear and you just kept going?
I just can't stomach the whole thing and wish I never even watched it. The pictures of her were so disturbing to say the least.
Whatever the reason, we are not god and I just hope they all RIP

I just finished watching this. Everyone here keeps talking about the husband but I found more wrong with the Sil. She is the one who said he doesn't want kids. The pi called her back and she said she did not answering the phone. I feel like she is pushing for this big time. Even reading the letter from Jackie hance. I don't know what happened. But she didn't sit right with me more than him.

There is something that is just not sitting right with me.
I dont like the husband. The relationship with the SIL is weird, to close.
The doctor theybmet with who did the autopsy for the second time, he was the defenses dr for Casey Anthony.
The witnesses who called and reported what theynsaw thatnday all said the same thing. She was driving out of control but with a mission.
The cell phone on the side of the road?? Why??
The PI who up and left? Why?
And, the whole I didnt want to have kids bit, and getting upset with the son....disgusting.
I dont know...cant she just be a SIL who is devastated for her nephew and BIL, and wants to help?
And as for the cell phone, why couldnt she have been pulled over, out of the car, getting sick, and laid her phone there, forgetting it was left there and get back in the car and drive? People with less confusion and upset leave their cell phones places everyday, kwim? I dont think the cell phone being left there means a thing.
Also...as for her being on a mission, she could have been so out of it that she just lost all senses and thought she was dreaming or such, kwim?
I dont know what to make of it all. I also dont think its odd her DH drove home and she took the kids and did her own thing. She had a car full of kids. Not odd the kids all went with her and all wanted to be together. She took them to eat. She got gas. I just dont buy she was planning to kill herself and all of them, got gas and food to kill them all.
So what do you truly believe happened? I mean, there's not doubt the liquor and pot was in her system. Do you think she did that to numb pain? Do you think what they did? Did she think the vodka was water? Just curious to know what you think happened.
One of the theories going around at the time of the accident was that she might have suffered a mini stroke. It's also called a transient ischemic attack. Basically, it is a small stroke that comes and goes, not leaving any evidence on the brain. So it wouldn't have shown up on an autopsy. It gives symptoms like loss of vision, dimming of vision, slurred speech, mental confusion. If this had happened, who's to say she didn't pick up the bottle of vodka thinking it was something else and chug it. I'm not saying that is what happened, but to me it does sound like a possible reason and one that is easier to swallow than a woman who is a monster.
And then smoked pot????

So what do you really think? Do you think she was high and drunk, was she ****** off and just decided she would end it all and take everyone down with her?

I am obsessed with finding out what she said on the phone to her brother. Do we know what he told the police? If I remember correctly it was very vague but I think it was an 8 minute conversation.

I dont think we know or that we will ever know.
I would also like to know how the girls got the phone, in order to make those phone calls to the parents saying something was wrong with the aunt, that she could not see.

and the several wrong numbers that were dialed that were [i think] one digit off from someone's number. led me to think it was one of the girls trying to place a call for help.

ITA! She was so weird. Almost like she was enjoying all the attention. She was a part of every single thing he did. Where was everyone else? Her husband? Maybe Diane's two other brothers?
I also thought it was terrible that they were interviewing her childhood friends that hadn't spoken to her in 10 years.....how well could they have really known her at that point in her life?
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that she drank, smoked and then drove with 5 kids. I feel like (even though I know there isn't) there has to be some other explanation. You look at pictures and here people talk about her and she doesn't seem like a monster. It scares me that if she could do this and leave everyone stumped what is to say one of my friends or relatives couldn't do the same thing? It just shows that you never really know someone......

Re: "There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane"
I fast forward through the friends from ten years ago. They couldn't get anyone else to speak about her character. That to me is very shady (unless no one else wanted any part of the documentary which is very likely)
I can't imagine people who were in my life ten years ago knowing the slightest thing about me right now (unless I'm obviously friendly with them on FB)

Has anyone other than her DB husband brought up the transient ischemic attack excuse?
Did either autopsy mention a build-up of cholesterol? Embolisms?

Well I took this as they were interviewing people that she grew up with, to account for who she was growing up, what happened in her life to make her who she had become (which was what the documentary seemed to be trying to decipher, who she had become and why). I think it made sense. And they did interview some current friends, the one woman who said she she was bossy, etc.

Yea, they were trying to "set up" the entire scenario I think. Explaining the person she was..where her hurt came from..her deep rooted scars and how she always hid them. I need to stop with this because the bottom line is, we will never know. Unless something huge comes out about someone having an affair and finding out..unless something is released about that 8 minute phone call to her brother..we will never understand any of it.
